Disappeared Into Thin Air

I'm sitting here at my desk and doing bills, writing cards etc and I took my stamps out of the drawer and now I can't find them.
I was all ready to put the stamps on the envelopes and it's like they disappeared into thin air. I looked back in the drawer, in my checkbook, under the desk, and pretty much anywhere else they might have fallen to.
Aside from the fact that it's driving me crazy, I wanted to get this stuff in the mail before the mailman came. Now it looks like I'll be going out to buy more stamps unless the ones I had miraculously appear once again.
How could they just disappear? Has this ever happened to you?

Many a times...I have yet to find a pair of spectacles that mysteriously disappeared

It's so frustrating isn't it. I still haven't found my stamps but losing spectacles seems far worse.

@Marilynda1225 it's been an year ...And the search is has been so thorough that it involved my next door neighbours but to no avail.....

No, I had to rip open all the envelopes and check and no stamps. Its just so frustrating and I still haven't found them

I'm easily distracted so that's probably what happened to me today. Still haven't found the doggone stamps though

I know exactly what you mean. I'm sure my stamps are right here under my nose and I cant find them

This happens to me all the time. I don't know how many crochet hooks and pencils I have lost. Could the stamps be in one of the envelopes? that is so something I would do.

I had to rip open all the envelopes and check and no stamps. Its just so frustrating and I still haven't found them. I hate to laugh but I've lost many a crochet hook too

I was tidying yesterday and spotted the needle with the thread in it on the counter. i turned around to get the thread spool from the table so I could put the needle in it and put it away. do you think i could find that needle? No way - it has vanished into thin air.
Also, I know that when I do find it, it will be stuck in my finger.

Yes, this sort of thing happens to me all the time. Perhaps you have a spirit who is playing games with you...or they could have slipped into a parallel universe.

I often put my glasses down somewhere or my purse.... and can't remember where... and you'll probably findcthem...after you've been out and bought some more

I have misplaced many different things. Yesterday I filled a small dish with some salt to bring upstairs. Lately I eat all of my meals at my PC. I knew I filled it but what happened next I had no clue. Then I went downstairs and there it was on a shelf where I had put it to grab and take upstairs. When it comes to things I cannot find I try to remember what I was doing when I had the stuff and then try to retrace my steps. Perhaps you put them in one of the envelope you prepared. Did you check?

I had to rip open all the envelopes and check and no stamps. Its just so frustrating and I still haven't found them, Usually I find things I lose after awhile but today they just seem gone. At least you found your dish with the salt. Crazy isn't it

Have you said a prayer to St Anthony? He helped us find some keys recently. And apparently St Rita is the backup saint for lost things.
