Well, today

The wind picked up as the sun came up. By recess we just about blew off the playground.
I left work about ten minutes early to get Bob's stitches looked at. They are healing well.
The middle school where one of my son's daughters attends found a written bomb threat in the bathroom. It says a bomb will go off tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. I do not believe it will happen, but I do not blame anyone for keeping their kid at home.
I am thankful for policemen and women who will intervene and who will be there to protect the students who do choose to attend.

I'm surprised they will have school after knowing that. Most here close the schools for that day.

@Courtlynn By the time my kids were middle school age I would have discussed it with them and seen what they thought. I can only guess, but I believe both of them would have chosen to go to school.

When I was in middle school, our school was always receiving bomb threats. There was never any bomb and it happened so frequently they didn't even send us home from school when it happened. It was just people pulling pranks. Of course, that was 20 years ago. The world is different now.

Yeah, same for me, only more like forty five years ago. They would just send us out to stand on the nearby railroad tracks away from the school.

@GardenGerty We would get sent out to the field that we had P.E. in and wait while the yard duty and vice principal would go around just poking their heads in each classroom. I always wondered if they even knew what they were looking for, but then they probably knew that it was just a fake bomb threat called in by a student thinking they were funny.

I grew up and went to school near Tinker Field, and we had threats constantly during the late 60's and early 70's.

That's sad but these days we cannot take any chances.

The scary thing is, with all that is available online, a kid could very well learn how to make a bomb.

So you got to be outside, and do not have to evacuate.

No, the threat is for today, Tuesday. I am pretty sure they have dogs in. Also an increased police presence.

Goodness, a threat like that has to be a bit worrying. Wishing you a safe tomorrow.

I can understand my daughter in law being concerned.
