This isn't a selfie

Since camera phones have been invented, people have enjoyed taking photos of themselves and posting them on their social media account.
I was one of those people who enjoyed taking photos of myself 6 years ago and back when the word "selfie" hasn't been invented yet. It was fun taking photos of myself with the angle that I look best. But I enjoyed doing that only for a year or two and then I stopped.
I got tired of taking photos of myself and I hate it having solo pictures. I rarely take selfies and I do that only when I've been requested to.
But this photo I'm posting is a stolen shot of me. I had no idea my photo was being taken at all! I love how candid I look in this photo.
Do you love taking selfies?

@LadyDuck I think I look ugly when I'm aware my photo is being taken. I feel more confident when I'm taking a photo of myself lol! I think that's why I used to love taking selfies.

Especially the teens these days. I’m just relieved my son isn’t into that and posting photos on Facebook.

@JudyEv yeah and that one can really get into someone’s nerve. Some people post the same pose of selfies 20 times in a day.

@toniganzon The odd one is fine - or when at a special event or whatever but some seem to post several a day.

Nope. I don't think I'm very photogenic. I don't mind having pictures taken with the friends but for me, it's the friends and family that make the picture.

I, too, am not photogenic but when I take my own picture I know which angle would make me look best.

As long as I am overweight, I'll probably not enjoy taking selfies but sometimes it gets away from time to time when it comes to family photo. You're darn pretty by the way

Why would being an overweight stop you from taking photos of you?

That’s the same with me these days. I only take a selfie when I have to.
Thank you. I’ve gained 2 kg in a month’s time.

I hate taking selfies because my hubby says I look like an old maid!

@peachpurple Nevertheless I don't think that would qualify as an old maid.

That is a beautiful picture of you. What are the plaques behind you? If I am in a nice spot then I may take one. The one that accompanies my profile is a selfie.

I have no idea what those plaques are. That place is in a garden resort we visited last week. I just took a seat while the rest of the family members were busy taking pictures of each other.

My son isn't which makes me somehow relieved. I don't feel comfortable seeing kids taking their own pictures and posting it in the social media.

That's what they call a "candid shot" back in the pre-selfie days. Excellent pic, some of the best ones happen when the subject doesn't know they are being photographed.

You look great, Toni!!! I am not fond of Selfie and I don't love doing so!!!!!!! I would love to take the photos of other person but not mine!!!!!!! It is not because I am not handsome (I guess).
In my view, taking photos is great adventure than taking selfie!!! I may be wrong but this is my personal opinions!!!!! Thanks for sharing such a great piece of content!!!!!!

Thank you.
I usually take photos of sceneries and flowers. Here's one of the beautiful sunset I took while on vacation last week.

It is a nice picture. I believe that others could take a better picture of us, rather than we taking selfie.

@toniganzon Yes, it depends upon practice and one's inclination towards photography.

I'm Turing 40 in February. I think when I get old and wrinkly I'd still be proud of how I look.

I used to use a film camera when I was a kid to take a selfie long before it actually became a 'thing'. My family used to think it was hilarious.I think that is a nice photo of you. I think candid photos like this can be very revealing. We took a lot of candid pictures at my sister's wedding and they captured the truth of the event.

I used to do that with cameras too and more with my blackberry phone and that was long before the word 'selfie' was even invented.
I love candid photos too.
