Winter is Three Days Away

Looking at the snow outside, it's hard to think that we're still in Fall/Autumn and Winter hasn't happened yet. We got our first bit of snow back in the last week of October. Until this last week, any snow we've gotten has melted away. Not what we got last week. It's been too cold with the Alberta Clipper we had last week for any to melt. However, with temps rising to the 30's there has been a little bit of melt, as felt by my tires when I did some sliding at 4:30 this morning when going to the pool.
However, the calendar is telling me Winter doesn't happen for another three days. The winter solstice happens at 10:28 AM on Thursday, December 21 Central time. You would need to adjust that time for where you live.
Are you ready for Winter to start? Or has the snow you've gotten already made you tired of winter and you're ready for spring? I know there are a few people out there who wouldn't mind winter year round. Of course I'm one of them. Hey, if there are places on this planet that can have summer year round, why not winter.
So, ready or not, Winter will be here in three days.
Thanks for reading. Photo mine of the storm last week.

I hope it's not too severe a winter for you..especially going on the roads so early in the morning to get to the pool... here in spain we have a very mild winter and will not see any snow where I live on the coast...

The best part I like about winter is when it is over. I do not like the colder weather.

A lot of people don't like winter. I believe you once said you live in one of the southern states.

@just4him I live in Arkansas. The weather can still get pretty bad during the winter here.

I was out in the snow all afternoon and I was dressed for winter and did not mind sliding and slipping as long as I didn't fall and break something.
Now, they are saying it might rain and that will create really slippimg conditions if it freezes and so tomorrow will not be a summer picnic.
So, you say winter will start in 3 days? You could have fooled me!

@just4him It did freeze and the sidewalks need to be walked with caution as there are many icy patches.

I think it did this year. We had snow earlier than usual. And very cold weather.

Summers are just too hot. I'm glad you wouldn't mind a full year of winter.

Goof-ball weather here in Texas. 71 is the high today but.....come Friday night it's suppose to get down to 36 with a 100% chance of precip. That tells me we're gonna get SNOW here in Fairfield. @just4him .

I am glad I live down south USA. I am accepting that it will be winter but not your kind of winter.

If you live in the south, I don't blame you for not wanting my kind of winter.

I love the snow, and so far it hasn't been severe. I'm still waiting for the snow event to start here instead of going north of my location. It's still expected. I can only hope.
