Pajama Day/Half Day

Students and staff have been encouraged to wear pajamas to school today. I am not quite going that far.
I have red plaid leggings that are fleece inside--soft and warm. I put on a big loose red and black sweater over them. I wear this on weekends a lot. I need jeans or pants with pockets usually at school.
I put on my hunter red plaid slipper socks, and slip on shoes. Over it all I am wearing my red fleece bathrobe that has big white dots. It is almost my favorite article of clothing to wear. That is where my pockets are for the day.
I put my hair up in a pony tail. I will apply some moisturizer to my face. For in town errands later, I just will swap out to boots and a coat instead of slippers and a robe and I will look okay for the real world.
Mostly today the kids will have parties and movies to watch and will be served a sack lunch.
There is a breakfast honoring paras and aides today first thing. My supervisor witll watch my student while I go.

The kids love it and mostly wear flannel or heavy knits, and still wear their coats. Some of them have been wearing shorts to school.

@LadyDuck It has not been really cold, but I often see boys, especially the athletic ones, in shorts almost all the time.

Oh, I switched off to look more mainstream. I had to go to the post office and to the county courthouse to pay taxes.

That sounds like a lot of fun for everyone! Not sure I would want to participate though. Neck I refuse to wear scrubs because they remind me of pajamas!

@GardenGerty I just can't bring myself to wear them. Some feel they are very comfy, I do not.

I have known non medical people who wore scrubs because they reminded them of pajamas. Kids in college with my daughter. Shoot, now they just wear pajama bottoms and T shirts anyway.

It was yummy food. Kind of them to make it. I was impressed, my lead teacher did an extra contribution of some gluten free muffins because one of our paras was diagnosed with Celiac Disease last spring. The para felt like she was given good consideration.

@shaggin Wow. . . some places do not even allow peanuts and peanut butter in the room with kids with those allergies. At least gluten allergy will not send a person into anaphyactic shock. We have to be considerate, or we should be.

@GardenGerty that is very thoughtful of the lead teacher! When I had plagroups the one boy was allergic to peanuts so any party I had or get together I made peanut free.

Meh. . . it was work, no matter what you eat or what you wear. I am glad to be away from the germs.

I swear this school has more classes with pajama days than any place I have ever seen. Entire classes work for incentive points and turn them in for things like pajama days. It probably is a better choice than too many sweet treats.

Do you have some traditions that are fun that you incorporate in schooling?

@GardenGerty sometimes, but I was always left out by other kids and some teachers, so I do not consider any fun.

That is one of my favorite pairs of leggings. It was a relaxed day. Grades are in for the semester, time to celebrate.

It felt strange. I am used to wearing jeans or slacks.
