Do you crochet? Not like Jo Hamilton does, I'll bet

I don't crochet or knit, can barely thread a needle. But I saw this young Portland, Oregon's woman on an Art Beat show and was blown away. She crochets faces, large faces that you could hang on a wall. Dogs, cats, humans, buildings and more. I have never seen anything like this work and it could be that she is the first to even think of it. (The photo is a generic free image, not Jo Hamilton's work. I could not find a public image of that) Don't take my word for it, check out this link to her site. Even if you don't like crochet work, this will amaze you (I think). May have to copy and paste the link.

That is really something. My daughter knits and crochets but doubt she could do anything like this. How inventive.

I doubt that few people can accomplish what Jo does.

I have checked the link James and I cannot believe what I see. I crochet, but very simple things. I am amazed by those portraits.

Yes that is really beautiful crochet, I did try it once in school during textile lessons but found it very difficult to do.

Wow, that is nothing short of amazing! I wish I had talent like that. I've tried my hand at crocheting before, and I can make a few simple things, but I've always needed the help of my daughter to complete my work. I don't have the creativity or skills to do what Jo Hamilton does!

@JamesHxstatic I can drive home from work every afternoon without letting road rage consume me and kill every idiot driver on the road! Now that is a special talent! LOL

Few people share that kind of talent, I suspect, @moffittjc.

@JamesHxstatic That is VERY creative! I can't quite work out how she does it - if she sketches it on paper first or whatever. Thanks for posting. I found it fascinating.

@JudyEv Thanks Judy! When I saw her on the show, it showed her doing some and talking about it. Here is a link if you have time.
Watch Jo Hamilton take her grandmother’s craft and turn it into a new art form.

@JamesHxstatic Thanks James but it is hard to knit with my cat in the room because she wants to grab for it. I really do not want to put it down. I wonder why as an older person I enjoy things I could have enjoyed while young.
