Question of the Day: What's Your Opinion Of New Year's Eve

Sparkly outfits, cool parties, ball drops, and romantic dancing sounds like a great way to enjoy New Year's Eve. But maybe you've had experiences in the past that were not so much fun.
Here are some reasons why New Year's Eve might be considered the "worst" holiday of the year.
1. Food and drinks are WAY overpriced.
2. There's so much pressure to have a good time.
3. There's even more pressure to have someone to kiss at midnight.
4. It can be a horrible reminder of just how lonely you are when you're single..
5. Everywhere is really crowded.
6. It can be so hard to dress stylish when its so darn cold.
7. Buying an expensive outfit and wearing it once.
8. Does anyone really like drinking nothing but Champagne?
9. No one looks good in those New Year's Eve glasses.
10.The next day's hangover is just not worth it.
I am sure you have experienced a few more "worsts" not mentioned here.
So, what's your opinion of New Year's Eve? Do you actually have fun?

It does not mean anything special to me. Just another night and starting tomorrow things are dated 2018 not 2017 and closer to tax time.

@dgobucks226 I did it again! Forgot to make my comment 'negative'. I'm always doing that lately. I meant to say older people DON'T need to worry about such things.

I always stay home and relax.
I'll stay up until midnight and watch television or read.

My memories of Christmas Eve, from days gone by. Getting sick as a dog and Jan 1st, vowing that it will never happen again! Facing the New Year, feeling so rotten is not 'OK.' Now, I'm a grown up. New Years is the first day of a brand new year. Another opportunity to start over and live my life, as a mature adult!

Ha ha. It's an interesting list/ Yes, to a large part that is true. I'm going to my parents today. Later I will leave for a bar where I will know a group of friends. It is supposed to be nasty nasty cold (-20s F) so , I don't know I may stay with the folks after all, we will have to see about that. However, as mean as this might be - I don't want to be around my dad that much and all of his negativity.
As usual I won't have anyone to kiss at midnight. :/
Oh well. Wont have any of the drama or arguments that come with being a couple, either.
I don't drink normally though I may have 1 if I go out tonight.
Hope whatever you do it will be happy

We only went out one time in 46 years to celebrate the New Year's Eve. At home we have no stress, we do not buy the food at the last minute, so it's not overpriced, we drink what we like. I prefer Italian Prosecco to Champagne. my husband often prefers to have a Vodka with the smoked salmon.

New Year's celebrations are what we make it, I have done a few countdowns in clubs they were fun, but tonight I will be enjoying variety shows on tv and some favourite snacks and that is fun too, relaxed fun. Have a wonderful 2018 "D."

The list was so funny. This is the second year in a row that our family has met at Myrtle Beach, SC to celebrate my birthday (Dec 29) and New Year's eve. I hope this will be a yearly tradition now. We'll watch fireworks from our condo balcony, but not going anywhere in the cold. And it's almost balmy compared to so many other places.

It's amateur night. I rarely venture out anymore. If I do, it's to a dive bar where I can trust the regulars to handle their booze.

I use the exact same term, "amateur night" to describe that evening!
Some of my best New Year's eve's in my younger years were in those dive bars.
