Practising my collages

So I’m practising making a collage. The kangaroo photo shows our front ‘garden’ at 6.30am today. Then we have my rose bush with its protective ‘skirt’ to stop the rabbits from ring-barking the trunk. When I brought the piece of shade cloth over from the shed there was a redback spider on it. It seems that these are not as deadly as once thought but they can make you very sick and apparently their bite is really painful. Another reason for you not to come to Australia but to leave it all to us intrepid antipodeans! (That’s meant to be funny.) The other little spider we call a Christmas spider, I suppose because it’s so colourful. I don’t know why Mother Nature saves some of her most beautiful and colourful creations for things like spiders’ eyes and the insides of flowers.

Mother Nature is dangerously beautiful and we really shouldn't mess with her creations ...... I don't like spiders, when I first opened this post the first thing that popped out was that redback now I'll need a comedy show to get that outta my head so I don't have nightmares ...................... ummm, ifin I do can I blame you?

I remember this shot @JudyEv it's too funny. Well, good news, I didn't have a nightmare ..... part of what I remember dreaming was being on a spaceship with a goofy looking alien but there's more to the dream that I can't remember, probably brought on by the show I was watching. Have you ever seen Stargate Atlantis?

Oooo... Sorry about that. Here's is a funny photo for you. Perhaps it will help but if all else fails, you can blame me. I have broad shoulders.

@rebelann No, I haven't seen it. I watch very little TV and even less in the way of movies. I'm glad there were no nightmares.

No, they are not native here but there are a few in various wildlife parks. Here's one just hangin' around in an Adelaide zoo.

Even though the sight of spiders scares me, I'm happy see spiders with different colors. I hope they're not venomous.

The redback gives a very nasty bite. We used to think the bite was fatal but that's not quite right.

my son has been bitten by one of those red and black spiders. It swelled a lot but that was about it. He picked up a piece of wood outside for the fire and one was on it & nailed him.

Was this in the US? I thought they were only in Australia. They do give a nasty bite.

The collage is wonderful except for the spiders. I truly did nothing more than a quick glance at them and shivered. All spiders petrify me!!!!!

Ohhh, sorry about the spiders. Vince is this minute taking photos of a joey that is just about on the verandah! There might be more collages coming up but I'll leave out the spiders next time.

Thanks. Yes, the Christmas spider is certainly a bit weird. Sometimes there are dozens all over the netting fences.

The redback is quite dangerous and can give a very nasty bite but the Christmas spider is harmless.

Both the spiders are beautiful. I like making collages because then I can share a few photos at one time. I do this often when I post photos of geocaches I find.

The species of redback spider and Christmas spider are rare! The kangaroos seem not to be afraid of human being, even look like tame creatures.

@JudyEv If so, they seem to be agile and timid as the mice.

The kangaroos would be off in a flash if we make too much noise or move around inside too much. We are hoping one day that they will become more tame but it isn't happening yet.

Isn’t this protective shade going to block the sun to the plant? Those spiders look really nasty. A white one bit my wife in Bosnia couple of years ago. She was in pain for several days.

The photo isn't very clear but all the leaves are well out of the covering. I know spider bites can be very painful and some cause ongoing problems for quite some time.

@JudyEv in an attempt to ease her pain I told her that she is going to turn into a superhero. That didn’t work at all lol

Thanks. You are not the only myLotter who doesn't like spiders. The Christmas spider is only tiny but even some small spiders can be dangerous if they bite you.
