It is said that gambling is a kind of vice. However, some of us sometimes indulge in gambling for the sake of fun, be it a Casino, betting for something, playing cards or any other means.
Have you ever indulged in gambling or do you like gambling for the sake of fun only?

I have an online account with a betting company and regularly bet, mostly on football and tennis games. It is just for a bit of fun though. I never bet large amounts and I set myself a monthly limit. When i get paid I deposit a certain amount of money, I know i can afford to lose, into the account and when it's gone I don't put any more in until the following month!!

@WorDazza - It is interesting to know that you have an online account with a betting company and you regularly bet on football and tennis games. I hope you make successful bets and you win good amount of money. It is wiser on your part that you set limits for yourself and do not bet mindlessly.

therefore, I have no idea that poker machines are connected with money.

It is wiser on your part that you do not like gambling, as it could lead to losses and money is earned after lots of hard work, therefore, it should not be wasted as such.
You have tried playing in a Casino but with pennies only. You are smart.

I have done the real thing a couple of times. I used to spend time on the virtual casino. These days I do not have the time. Yes. I love that feel.

When I was in Las Vegas I had fun playing the slot machines. Here in Jerusalem when I was doing our lottery system with a friend we were doing it to make some money but I was not good at picking numbers so we stopped.

We do not have slot machines in Jerusalem. I visited Las Vegas before I came to live in Jerusalem. There fun. I played the lottery with a friend and I did not do very well so we stopped it. Slot machines you money in and see if you win. Lottery or Lotto as it is called here in Jerusalem you have to pick numbers and that is not easy.

Nothing wrong in sitting in a Casino for hours together to win the money. You have not mentioned other forms of games, which could be considered as gambling?

Like WorDazza, I would love to buy a Lottery ticket for a small sum. When times were bad, I actually used to buy Royal Bhutan lottery once in a while, hoping god would have some pity. lol. But basically, I am against indiscriminate gambling. My father's bro in law was one. He sired a large family and their burden fell on my father. Elder sister and her 4 children! Not a joke.

There are many in India who buy lottery ticket to get a jackpot. Most of the people do not succeed because number of buyers are multiple times than the prizes being offered.
Yes, you are right that gambling per se is not good for anyone.

I've never cared much for gambling....safe to say it is not one of my addictions. When I'm sitting at the casino and my uncle is handing me 20's, then I guess gambling [can be] kind of fun but other than that, no, I just don't like risking my money that way. If there was like an 80% chance of winning, then maybe I'd like it more. But it's more like 50/50, probably even less, I don't like those odds.
