A Terrorist lives in my neighborhood!!!

I've seen him a half-dozen times in the past few years, but he is such a schneaky bastage I'd never been able to photograph him.
Until this morning.
Scar was getting riled up about something outside, and when I went out to look, the hawk flew off from a tree in back of the house.
I ran back in to get my camera, and it landed in a tree right across the street.
I love seeing it, although I hate that it feeds on the other birds I set seed out for.
But that is only Nature...

Oh sorry, my mistake @JolietJake in my area we used to have several different sized hawks, one was the red tailed hawk, so I wondered how big this one was approximately

I know what you mean about "only nature" with those things. Back when I had a privacy fence I came home one day and found a squirrel, or the remains of one, hanging on the privacy fence where the hawk had dumped it after doing what it does.

Have you actually seen it or photographed it feeding on other birds?

I thought you were talking about Scar then after what he did to you! Hawks are beautiful but we don't see many where I live. I guess they have to eat too but it's a shame it has to be other little birds

He hangs in the neighborhood because he's assured of finding prey since 3 of us that live next to each other all feed the birds/squirrels. I saw it 'take' one of my doves one morning...can't blame it for hunting, but...

@JolietJake I know what you mean, even though it's natural it's upsetting to see an innocent living thing attacked and killed. I love all birds and animals.

I get all kinds a birdies out here @JolietJake ; but I do say that the Hawks are my favorites now that I don't have any chickens to get whisked away.

Before he had taken off as soon as I saw him, this was the first chance I've had to get a few shots

A hawk will eat chickens, cats, small dogs, whatever it can sink its talons into and then fly away to feast!
