Everytime I go for a walk and see what dog owners leave behind I am appalled. How difficult can it be to pick up after your pets. As a dog owner I wonder if these people really love their pets and what kind of person does this. Today was the worst I have seen in awhile. I went for a walk in our forest today and with the snow melting, there is dog waste showing through every crack and crevice in the snow and on top of the snow. I guess no one wants to pick up during winter. I guess they think the snow would cover it forever and they can get away with it. When the snow starts to melt all comes to light. And instead of having a nice casual walk I had to be dodging dog poop. I wish there were cameras everywhere to catch these irresponsible dog owners. Do you have irresponsible dog owners in your area? What would you do if you saw someone leaving waste behind?

I do not walk dogs anymore but I would pick up the dog waste by using a scoop gadget so the owner of the home does not blow their tops.

It is the right thing to do but not everyone feels that way.

I would think that most people pick up after their dog but when I saw how much was left along the public walking trail it blew my mind.

Yes and lots of them. Dogs run loose with no leash and they poop all over the place too and they always wanted to blame our dog him being bigger than most.

I am always shaking my head when I come across these dog owners who let their dogs off leash and they come charging at me and my dog who is on a leash.

@Freelanzer I gave up on them as they do not care at all. But they are the very ones that complained all the time about our dog as he was the only big dog around here. Actually they knew that I always cleaned up after him but were spiteful and liked to just talk about others I guess. They have been told off numerous times and they still keep doing the same thing over and over.

@lovinangelsinstead21 So wrong of them. You would think dog owners would be kinder but not do today. Some of them are just not cut out for parenting pets.

I had seen some of them when walking their dogs in the morning. They let their pets scatter their dongs on the street. Sometimes if they do this in front of my house, I will call their attention to go away and be responsible.

@Freelanzer I personally think that the local government needs to have strict rules or do some awareness seminar. Some of these owners are so abusive with the kindness of others.

This is pretty bad. Living in the country on our own we don't get any dog poop here and I think in the town people are mostly pretty good about picking up their dog's waste. I never seem to hear or read of any complaints. It's pretty gross to have to be dodging it.

Can't imagine adults acting that way and there is no excuse especially when there were containers of bags for that purpose throughout the park.

I would not be very happy if when I am out for a nice walk I step in dog poo.

I have two dogs and always pick up after them. It's the same where I live, people just leave the mess for people to step in. I can't count the number of times I've walked it in the house. I noticed how easy it is to see it in the snow so there's no excuse for not picking it up. Sometimes when the weather is good my dogs run ahead and do their business on the grass, then they wander off and I have to search for the spot they did it!

@Freelanzer I find that youngsters are the worst culprits. Older people usually pick up. My house overlooks a field where people walk their dogs and they don't know I can see who doesn't pick up. We have signs here threatening a huge fine for dog fouling on the paths but people still let their dogs do it.

It is disgusting and I would love to catch one in the act on camera. There are containers with baggies all over for their use so yes there is no excuse.

Out here in the country, pretty much 'everybody' just let's their dogs run loose un-managed @Freelanzer . In town, I never see anybody ever walking their dog.

I own a dog and I always pick up his poo. It angers me when people don't as that is probably the main cause of people leaving poisoned food for dogs to find in parks etc! There's a crowd of us walk our dogs in the same park every night. It's a lot easier to challenge lazy owners when there's a few of you!

I know it isn't easy to challenge them and I wouldn't recommend it especially alone. In any case I think they do it when no one is around so they get away with it.

@Freelanzer Nah sadly here some of them will stand and watch their dog poo in a busy street or park and walk away!

Yes, a pet peeve of mine. Many dog walkers in my neighborhood do not know the meaning of curb your dog. I have watched and yelled at one who decided to leave poop on a neighbors lawn. Even letting dogs urinate on someone's grass is unacceptable. If you want to do that walk the dog in front of your own house till they go. Why destroy nature and mark the territory for other dogs to go!

I have seen it happen in my own yard and ask myself how did this get here? I also see from my window some allowing their dogs to go on other people's lawn. So disgusting.

@Freelanzer Yes, so true. I was in my yard and saw someone who had nothing with him to clean up after his dog let his dog go to the bathroom. I told him you have to clean up after your dog. It's amazing to me how stupidly people behave?

Yes, I have irresponsible dog owners in my area. If I would tell the owner to pick up after his dog, he will get upset.

This bothers me also. Sometimes the sidewalk looks like a dog pooping contest just took place. It's not only the dog owners that don't pick up after their animals. Last summer I was out for a walk (I live in a city) and there were two Mounted Police officers on their horses. They stopped in the street and one of the horses let it drop. Horse doodoo all over the street and the police officer who was riding it just left it there! I mentioned to her about the "bi-law" stating that animal owners are required to pick up after their animals, and she just smiled and told me she isnt responsible for the horse or what it does. 8-0
