Is it God's fault the Earth is so crowded?

I mean, He did tell us to do this, right? Sure, it is possible He might have thought we'd have a bit more restraint about it, but what do you expect from a creature with Free Will that is basically the Apex Predator? So it probably isn't really His fault, but it might have been nice if He would have installed a reproduction limit. Did someone say Exponential Growth?

Someone sure needs to tell people to stop having kids or cut back. None of our politicians want to do it, but is indeed getting to crowded. They say more money equals more problems. More people equals a crap ton more problems.

Aw...I know some auto drivers here who have 9 children. Now that sure is more than exponential. lol. Seriously we Indians can't afford it. The world can't afford our population either. Time we sat down and did some serious thinking about it. I believe...more the merrier does not hold good in modern times. It is tough life for some and envy makes inroads even among siblings. There would then be some who are bullies. And others who resent, so family politics and crimes are possible. Envy can also be with neighbors, and then resentments. When basics are affected the effect is more. So food, clothing, shelter, medicines, and dowries mean more fights. Often for silly silly reasons, and hatred gets magnified over a period. We are the cause for food in the world becoming expensive, and so also cost of energy resources rising. We are also the cause for some unemployment (To that extent, Trump is right for you all). We are also the cause for rise in terrorism, because it is spawned to control us. We compete with another religion to keep our population ratios up. The other religion says our scriptures forbid this that and that. But their scriptures make no mention of medical facilities used to give birth to babies, and prolong lives. How can a scripture that is so silent on one aspect voice opinion on another? In any event those technologies do not belong to either competing religions. We also breed recklessly because we want boys who will bring in more dowries. And we want boys because they will bear our old age expenses. And we want more children because it is a proof of virility - something that an aging parent will turn up his moustache. Talk about Indian ignorance.

That´s one more reason to think in another way about the Bible. I cannot imagine a God writing a book specially for a lot of violent animals (us). Besides all, we are very self centered. We even want God to be at our service.

You are right here, the Catholic Church did not even allowed birth control. I fear that now he has to find a way to get rid of a bit of humanity.

My country Guyana has over 200 unpopulated islands lying off the coast of the Essequibo river - I doubt the world can ever run out of space.

@nanette64 If things become too ' hot' around the world, I might think of occupying one of them.

I hear that we are over populated and over crowded, but then I look at all the open space here in the middle of the country. We do need to be wise in our care of the Earth. I kept thinking that said to multiply and replenish the earth but what little I have looked says I am remembering wrong. I do think if we are truly fruitful we will also produce good fruit to live on.

Greetings, JJ, Well, can you blame the parents if their grown up kids start robbing? Or even if they commit a murder? Because, if you believe in God, that would be the most similar situation. I'm pretty sure you can blame him, as the creator - he should see it coming, or he could set us some sort of limitation in reproduction. But in the end, we are the ones reproducing without thinking. It's interesting because we have developed ways to measure and discover that the world can't support much more of us. But the way that the world is, we have so many disparities... the science of the rich can't reach the poverty. And the poor are still in majority in this world (and I tend to believe that they'll be for a long while). Which means that science won't make them change their minds so easily. Nice discussion. Have a nice time!

@Crafy117 I agree with your points. Same time , getting news on massive killing, in accident, natural disasters and many other ways.... so ... God is vigilant on his duty as well.

@Sreekala it's really hard to talk about Biblical related stuff ,cause we have different beliefs and religious practices or whatsoever, but for we don't need to blame others or God for whatever misfortunes we had at the end of the day even the wisest person on Earth will advise you to do right things ,you will always stick to your own decisions and can possibly do bad. Even massive killings, calamities or other natural disasters we can't blame God for that.

We follow what is written in the scriptures selectively. We do what suits us. We need more of common sense in action but that is not that common! siva

The world is not crowded there are so many lands unoccupied . people nowadays prefer living in a already developed places (cities) If only we could go back and build our isolated villages, islands, deserts etc space will be found. people have forgotten before we don't have house, water was from lakes, ocean and rivers etc. I think you should have said people are crowded in cities not actually the earth at large

This a long, winding and never wnding topic I think. I dont think it is God's fault. But of course, since it was all knew to Him at that time He dis not think yet of thw consequences of it in the future.

Free will is one thing. Common sense is another. If he/she/it is counting on humans to do the right thing, good luck with that.
