Overdosed, But Delicious

My kids tell me I don't spice up my food enough. This morning I made egg bake for breakfast. My main spice is Mrs. Dash Garlic and Herb. It was nearly empty. I have another one, so don't worry, and I dumped the rest into the egg bake. My first thought was that it would be way to spicy and I wouldn't be able to eat the egg bake. What I thought was an overdose, turned out absolutely delicious! I still have a tiny bit left, but not for long. Do you tend to over spice your food? Do you like it spicy, or bland? Thanks for reading.

I don't like spicy so I guess am bland.

I've been bland all my life, though I'm starting to pull away from it, not totally spicy, but tasty.

I do not enjoy bland food - nor over spicy. My omelette this morning had garlic, onion, tomato, bell pepper and thyme.

I don't enjoy spicy at all. I think certain spices such as garlic give most things the perfect taste for me.

@LadyDuck When I heard spicy is good for you, I started adding a little more spice to my food, but nothing like what I did yesterday morning, and it still turned out great.

We don't do spicy, but my mom always yells at me when we have steak, roast beef or chicken, as I put way to much seasoning on them. Though, we only use salt, pepper and garlic salt.

@Courtlynn I have been adding more spice to my pot roasts and whatever else I put in the crock pot. When I made beanless chili, I made that spicier than expected, but not too much. It was good. I just put the spaghetti squash in the oven to start getting the tuna casserole made for today. I'm going to try to make that tasty with a good dose of lemon pepper and onion and herb seasoning from Mrs. Dash. I just add a little more than I'm used to, to see how it works out. I can't do too spicy.

Surprisingly, it wasn't over spicy, but it was delicious. My mother never spiced anything while I was growing up. My kids told me I took after my mother in that regard. I've been trying to improve in that category and make my food a bit more tasty. It was this morning.

@silvermist No, there are a lot of people who love spicy foods, and some the spicier the better they like it.

I'm adding more to my spices to get used to having it a bit spicier than I've been used to eating it.

I don't either, but I'm learning to make it a little spicier than I've had in the past, getting away from bland. It's not spicy by a long shot and I worried this morning it would be too much for me to handle. I was glad it wasn't.

Some spices are wonderful, while some I tend to use far too much. Too much cinnamon or nutmeg, actually burns my stomach. I love Mrs. Dash because it helps things taste delicious with a lot less salt.

No salt in Mrs. Dash, which is why I use it. I didn't know cinnamon and nutmeg could burn your stomach.

@just4him My mother was the same way. Too much of it, can really bother some people. Jay's business associate would get sick, if he even smelled cinnamon!

Depends on what type of food I am eating. Many times I seem to find the food bland and need to add something more to it. Garlic is always good on Foods.

I can't eat food without any spice in it. That's just too bland. The egg bake, despite my overdose of the spice, was delicious and didn't taste like I had overdone the spice.

We use garlic over here and try to go easy on salt. I'm not into spices but my hubby is. He went a little nuts with the garlic powder on yesterday's eggs. I had to eat a little bread with the eggs, to cool off my tongue.
