Bumping into dead people on myLot

It's always kind of sad when you are visiting an old discussion after following a 'tag' and you see a response/comment by someone you used to know/talk with here (and at times on facebook) that is no longer with us.
And each passing year, there are a few more added to the group.
Sometimes you find out about them passing right when it happens...other times it may take a few days...weeks...months...even a few years before the 'news' finally circulates.
And these are only the ones I know about...I'm sure there are some here that kept their personal details quiet enough that they just 'vanished' and were never heard from again with no one knowing what happened.
We are all mortal, and in the ticking of the clock, the next second could be the last we ever see of someone here again.
Just makes me think at times...

@JamesHxstatic I also searched and found nothing, she had broken a wrist and she did not see well recently. May be she only needs some rest.

@LadyDuck I did a quick search of obituaries in Orange County, CA, where she lives and found nothing, so that is a good sign, I think.

@JolietJake I did not get the connection either. It was a shock. I knew he was shot in the beginning by a crazed ex-patient but thought he must have recovered.

Though not because of "passing away," people seem to be exiting here at a high rate. Various reasons given why or they just vanish and not enough new "stalwarts" are coming aboard to replace them. This site seems to suddenly be wearing people down and out.

I'm not on My Lot 1/2 as much, by choice. It's not the people here, it's me. Too much time doing only one thing, isn't healthy.

I didnt know you could be a softie, JJ. Just kidding. But yes, we will all go that is why there is a saying that you will never appreciate someone until they are gone.

There are so many I miss here that I cared about. HardWorkingGirl is one of them. I see Patsie is also missing on Facebook. I do hope she's OK. It is frustrating to see people seem to disappear and not know what happened to them.

@JolietJake I had also been made aware of that, but it took a bit of time to find out after she sort of disappeared. I was concerned because it was obvious by then she was discouraged.

When you don't see someone for a bit of time it is questionable, and the way that people are backing off of the site it isn't difficult to list a few names of members that haven't been active in a bit. I only use this site as social media, so there wouldn't be any recourse if I vanished, you'd all have to let me rest in peace-even if I were just temporarily resting.
In the meantime, let's keep our chins up and treat each other with the respect that we all deserve and not make members vanish, or take a break.

Yes JJ, you never know when you walk out the door that you will return for sure, like what happened to my bother in law last July on his Harley.

Some vanish...others announce their departure or imminent departure so often you want to say, "so just go already". I guess that's my snarky side peeking out again.

That is life. It's sad that we haven't heard from anyone. This reminds me of something.

Sunday was the 1 year anniversary of a friend's passing. I knew that it was approaching because several people started switching their FB covers and profile pictures to ones including him. Then I started seeing posts with him tagged on Sunday. So sad to see someone's FB suddenly become "active" again when you know that they are gone.

Ruby Hawk was quite sick and I haven't heard from her, for about four months on My Lot. I've known her for over six years, online. She's from Georgia.
