Here is a little information on a popular kids toy. When used in conjunction with a coloring book it provided many hours of fun. Was this activity a favorite of yours?
CRAYON HISTORY
In 1903 Pennsylavania's (U.S.) Binney & Smith Company introduced the American version of the wax marking crayon worldwide. Kids and even grown ups have enjoyed using the Crayola, the products brand name, for usage in coloring books. The companies first set of crayons contained an 8 count box. It sold for a nickel and contained the colors red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet, brown and black.
Many a future artist probably started their careers off using these crayons as kids. As far as inventions go, that one made a lot of children happy for it gave them a fun activity to occupy their time. And I am sure many Mom's appreciated the crayon since it gave them some time to themselves while their youngsters played.
So do you remember as a kid how old you were when getting your first box of crayons? When was the last time you used crayons and colored with your children?

Coloring in a children's book was a nice way to introduce kids to art. A child might develop an aptitude and interest in being creative and it was always such fun.

When I was small and I loved to crayon everything in the colouring books.
Over anything I loved to crayon as I learned how to draw from that.
Lego was also a favourite of mine I used to build most of my brother“s models too.

I loved Lego and building cars and airplanes which my brothers were a bit lazy in doing and so I ended up doing them myself.

Oh yes, definitely a great way to learn drawing and creating artwork. Legos were also very popular. I liked using building blocks as a child to build forts for my soldiers.

I loved coloring with crayons when I was younger. I never knew how they were made until I saw a Mr. Rogers episode when I was older. I recently got back into coloring, but I use colored pencils now.

I was young when I got my first box of crayons and I can remember back when only 8 came in a box. Now they have so many more per box as well as so many more colors to choose from. Yes, coloring did keep us busy

Yes, it is an item you don't think about throwing out. My mom even passed ours down to my sister's children when they came to visit.
