If I ever become a vegetable, I hope it isn't cauliflower...

41 F/4 C as the day begins to fade away, and by daybreak tomorrow they are saying 25 F/-3 C.
I hate waking up this time of year and seeing a skim of ice on top of the puddles.
I have yet to see a magnolia tree in bloom, and usually they would already have begun blooming a few weeks ago.
I don't know what this will do to my flowers this year...last year I didn't even have one single iris bloom out and had hoped for better this year.
Scar has already situated himself on the bed, so I guess it's time for me to head there as well...he gets a bit prickly if I try to stay up when he's ready to sleep.
So until tomorrow, ta ta...

I have had daffodils attempt to bloom and freeze, cause we just cannot make up our minds that it is spring. Your irises may need dug up and the rhizomes trimmed and replanted. Unless you have had so much rain that they rotted.

I'm pretty sure I need to replant my surprise lilies, I may dig up the iris and replant them this year too

The magnolia tree in my front yard bloomed about three weeks ago. You need to tell your magnolia tree to catch up!

The cold seems to be stalling them from fully opening...the blooms don't last long anyway, I hope they get a chance to finish

I hope your flowers will be ok. I hate snow I am glad that the weather is suppose to be nice here this weekend and should melt what we have now.

Ha, ha, in that your post doesn't reflect your title that well.
Our weather is yucky too, in fact I saw a few flurries a bit ago and I think I'm still seeing them right now. Maybe once it does warm up it will stay there nicely and you'll be able to enjoy those iris's after all. What is it that makes them not bloom? I have some miniature ones that if I forget to watch I might miss.
Hopefully, with this weirdly cold April we won't have to worry about a hard frost next month at all.
I was thinking just yesterday, that usually by now my redbud tree is beginning to bud.

This is Sunday and our temperature this morning was 18 degrees F. I just checked the thermometer on our back porch, it registers at 35 degrees this afternoon, much better! Scar looks so comfy, laying there all curled up,by your feet:) I hope you both got a good night's sleep
