Have you ever known someone who can't be finger printed?

I do, and that person is me. Don't get me wrong, I have been fingerprinted in the past, but I spend so much time online that my prints are basically worn off. It is a problem when it comes to employment as most places do require fingerprints now. I was going to sub a few years back and ran into this problem. I think that my prints can be rejuvenated with moisture..to a degree like hand lotion in a glove sometimes will help..but not quite sure I can get them good enough to print..I have tried different methods. Have you ever heard of someone else who has this problem?

I have a friend who was born without fingerprints, it's called Adermatoglyphia, it is a rare condition and it is genetically transmitted. Other members of his family had the same problem.

My dad has this issue, but he cannot revive his fingerprints. After years of gardening (as an occupation) and using his hands and having all sorts of skin issues, his fingerprints have literally been wiped out.

Yeah, it happens. If I keep my hands in gloves with hand lotion they do come back to a degree..not sure they would pass though.

I have not had to be fingerprinted in a long time but would think there are other ways to check someone iut if this is becoming a common issue

Well maybe in certain occupations eye scans and so forth can be used..but most places aren't that sophisticated yet!

That sounds odd to me. I've been using a keyboard since 1970 and I think I still have my fingerprints.

You might not spend as much time online as I do. That is the only reason why I think my prints aren't there. I can't think of anything else.

@rebelann Not everyone is the same..maybe if you have enough natural oils in your skin you wouldn't have the effect. I don't know what else would cause this problem honestly.

I worked as a keypunch data entry operator for 40 years @snowy22315 and now I spend about 42 hours a week online. I would think using a keyboard for 8 hours a day monday through friday for 40 years would have had the affect you're talking about.

@snowy22315 yes, before this happened to me I never thought that we can lose our finger prints.. I think, using moisturizer and skin vitamins can help to regenerate new skins cells better... and hopefully includes the fingerprints.. Lol.. ;)

I am not sure what diabetes would have to do with it..unless she is always pricking her fingers or something. This fingerprinting thing is a dilemma for me..if I stayed off the computer they would probably rejuvenate, but that is not going to happen!

Never heard of this particular problem before.
The extremely rare disease causes no problems—apart from occasional difficulties with the authorities

maybe, but I think eye scans may become more the norm or facial recognition technology..they use that someplaces I believe.

I got a shock of my life the other day when the mobile guys could not get my finger print. Finally they settled for the pinky finger. My thumb impression has disappeared. I believe seniors have this problem and I am a senior. Till about last year I had no problem.
