myLot pays for 'interaction'

Sounds pretty simple, doesn't it?
Yet some people will say they have been 'interacting' all day and hardly receiving any money.
That is because they were not actually 'interacting' in regards to themself.
They were making actions.
myLot pays for 'interaction' - more specifically, received interaction
Anything you do yourself is an 'action'.
If you make a discussion, a response, a comment, or 'like' something, you have made an action.
An 'interaction' is what you receive from someone else.
If someone writes a response to you, you have received an interaction.
If someone writes a comment to you, you have received an interaction.
If someone 'likes' something you did, you have received an interaction.
And that is what you get paid for: received interaction.
When you make a response, a comment, or give a 'like', that is an interaction for the person you made/gave it to and not for yourself.
Of course, theoretically, the more actions you make, the more chances to receive interaction back from other users.
You can look at the number next to your name (in parenthesis): this is the number of times you have created an action for someone to interact with.
(Yes, I've said it many times...and I'll say it many more, probably)
Your actions are important...without them, you can't receive interaction.
Think about that when you do something...is it something that will entice other users to reply to you?
It isn't always true that 'the more you give, the more you get'.
But it is usually true that the more quality you give, the more you will get.
Just something to keep in mind...

I see at times some people that respond just for the sake of responding...if they simply say 'nice post' or some such thing, I usually just ignore it

@JolietJake but do you still give it a like?

You need to be out there to receive interaction, but you need to have some means of attracting it as well. Some styles repel it. Some people do not realize that even an interaction saying "read the guidelines" is valuable as well.

Some styles repel it.
Exactly. So many people don't seem to realize that.

You have pointed it so many times. But still,we do encounter people who have doubts about what is interaction.

@JolietJake they used to. They used to say that they don't count short replies. I know one person on here who just kind of thanks the person for the reply but doesn't really read it. Each reply to one of their postthat I give basically gets the same kind of response. Or if it's a comment on the Post Its obvious from the reply that they didn't read the post at all

@JolietJake I think that is a very good idea.

I sometimes wonder if perhaps the Guidelines should specify that interaction is what you receive, not what you do

It all comes down to what you receive from others, lots of people miss the distinction

@JolietJake That is upto the person, mostly they are earning more than the people who used to write many lines.

@Sreekala Actually, they probably aren't. The highest earners here put effort into their responses/comments.

Yes quality matters more, though a little dosage of quantity helps.

Basically we are at the mercy of other's good will in regard to receiving thus earning.

Yep. Theoretically you could make 1,000,000 posts and not earn a dime.

We constantly get new users that don't quite 'get it' and we have some older users that don't seem to get the distinction as well

No, we don't get paid for anything we made.
What WE do does not pay us anything.

Oh, anyway, as long as I'm enjoying the interaction and the cents I made. It's okay.

That's the sucky part. We have to rely on others to earn something... We can choose to be active on mylot 24/7 (though that would be a very crazy thing to do) and get hardly any interaction back, and thus get only pennies or none at all.
