This is what one of my two best balcony sunflowers looked like when I got back from Paradise CA yesterday. I immediately watered all of my plants, and did so again this morning. Do you think it will survive? I will try to take a photo tomorrow morning.

@TheHorse - I don't know. Nearly all my plants look like that after a month or two under my care! LOL

Hmmm... do your plants continue to live under your care, DD, or do they tend to die, quietly with a whimper? If they survive your care, you would be said to have a 'brown thumb'. If the plants quietly die, you have a 'black thumb'. In other words, pony trained himself to remember to water his plants once in a great while instead of forcing them to survive with only the normal rainfall for the desert area.

Heh. I used to have a black thumb. I could kill anything. I "willed" myself to be a farmer.

Yes, it will survive, but keep an eye on the leaves and water again if needed.

I know for sure, I would never leave my plants with Pony if I were going out of town. Yeah that helps provided its not too hot. One person here came up with a nice one. He uses discarded pepsi bottles and make a very small opening in the lid so that water drips drop by drop..that works for longer. But Pony is not growing the sunflowers in large area. That means he would have difficulty in finding a stick ..affixing it near the root and tying a bottle filled with water.

@TheHorse Sometimes if I'm only away for a few days, I stand the pot in a saucer of water. It's supposed to help.

Ahhh, poor thing, it is fried on the bottom so best to cut those leaves off. It should come back though because the top still looks healthy.
