In a recent post, I mentioned how my second balcony sunflower was coming in, but asymmetrically! I realized that I've never really stopped to consider whether that's the norm or not. My hunch now is that it is, as my sunflower has filled in and is looking good. I don't have any others on the way, so I guess I'd better enjoy this one while it lasts. How is your garden growing?

I like your sunflower. My flowers are doing well but I'm having to water them every evening as we haven't had any rain for weeks. One of my hanging baskets.

I have no more garden. In my friend's garden, there is just grass and tall palm trees. Lovely sunflower.

@TheHorse no this garden does not look like it could grow anything without extremely hard work. No one ever tried but we are going to pot tomatoes and have a bumper crop that way.

I have all sorts of lilies, pink ones I do not remember planting. Purple, orange, several colors of yellow. small bright red roses. Marigolds on my deck, Passion flowers all over the ground in the grown up with grass greenhouse. I have blooming okra, squash, cucumbers and tomatoes. I did not see the bell peppers blooming. The basil is blooming. But the grass is trying to take over, I have to mow the garden rows!

Why are the bell peppers taking their time? I buy them at TJs but have never tried growing them.

Our flowers are doing good, they are perennials, so there wasn't a whole lot done by me. Your sunflower is beautiful, this photo brightened up my morning:)

@TheHorse not really because the plants are potted. It is just that they were not planned and designed, you know.

It really does. Why did I have to go listen to this sad song with a sunflower as a metaphor? It's by Greg Brown.

That's gorgeous. My sunflower jungle by my shed is having a blast. The worms are enjoying our apples and yup, there's tons of weeds by the tomatoes. Its summer for sure at my house.

@TheHorse I have two poinsettias and an alacasia, without looking at how it's spelled, I think that's it. It has large leaves on it.

It's happy right now. But I'm sort of a depressive poet soul at times, and I always hear this song playing in the back of my mind when I see a happy sunflower. It's Greg Brown--worth a listen.

Sunflower is so pretty. And it is my mom's favorite. Nice photo you have there. Our garden is all green and quiet now. No flowers blooming for the meantime.

That sounded like a woman developing half her feminine features while growing up ..you know left side first..and then right...asymmetrically. I don't think you understood...and I am dreadfully drowsy...goodnight Pony...enjoy your date with your blonde haired girlfriend...and let me know the juicy details..I will write a nice book on it.

@TheHorse - By "garden," I suppose you are referring to my three small succulents by the front door. They have looked the same for years, so I guess they are doing OK. LOL Your sunflower looks amazing, however!

@TheHorse - Your succulents are amazing, then. They must have the right kind of pots, which drain well. I'll keep trying to keep mine alive.
