Do You Know The Worst Retail Chain Store in America?

Which retail store would you definitely avoid. One you just find a terrible experience to shop at. A recent Harris Poll survey found that people aren't crazy about Sears. The retailer finished at the bottom with the worst rating given from over 100 companies surveyed. With that kind of customer dissatisfaction it's no wonder Sears Holding Company, which owns Sears and K-Mart , has closed about 2,500 stores in the past decade. Does Sears or K-Mart get a bad rap with you? I find their prices not as competive with other retailers and thier customer service lacking. Probably due to their stores struggling to compete and make a profit. So, what's your opinion of Sears or K-Mart? Are they at the bottom of your survey list? If not, what store is and what do you find to be the most annoying aspects of shopping at that store? Source Information- Reader's Digest/MSN Money Photo-clark.com

Sears - besides appliances and tools, everything else is eh. Whatever good they had, it's just been going downhill for years - and pairing up with Kmart (messy stores) sure didn't boost their reputation. There's something lacking about the presentation in both stores that I never really cared for.

@dgobucks226 Our Kmart closed many years ago . . . Target took over, and then Walmart. Any other Kmart I've been to since has been junky - it's as if they didn't even try to compete - and a couple of those locations even closed. I know of a couple Sears that have closed down too. We still have the one in our mall, but I rarely go in there.

@much2say Target and Walmart are just more efficiently run. Any item you need can be found there and at a lower price. I used to go to JC Penney and Macys for clothes, but they are not as competitive in price as stores like Kohl's.

Yes, those are good points. K-Mart prices are not the greatest and the help could be better! Sears products are second rate compared to other competitors. No wonder they cannot compete.

Target and Walmart are very big here! We have a couple of K-Marts by me that I shop in on occasion. They just closed the Sears stores in our area.

I have not been to K Mart & Sears in years because we don't have them around anymore. There was a time way back in the day, when they existed in our town and I did shop both places for some things.

I still have a K-Mart close by. Sears is done though. With so many changes in how one can shop, these stores have become dinosaurs

The only local Sears we have sells appliances, tools and paint. It's more like a hardware store than department store. I never was very fond of Kmart

They just closed the Sears store near us for good. We do still have an appliance Sears about 20 minutes away, but I found better deals at Lowes and Home Depot when I went looking for a refrigerator.

I heard Sears is closing it's doors. I don't shop there because of their prices. I don't really have a store that has a bad rap with me. I've been treated fairly in every store I've shopped in. I only avoid the higher priced stores.

Oh wow. But I believe it being our local Kmart and Sears went out of business. I loved KMart - I liked their brands of shoes and clothing. Some of the housewares weren't bad, either. Sears was high $ for what you got, but I know a lot of men seemed to like their tools, power equipment, and etc.

@dgobucks226 That is one truth - Walmart is cheaper and has more variety than the Kmart used to. Also the Kmart didn't seem as "trendy" (not that it matters to me) - as say - the Targets in the area

Yes, for tools and appliances Sears was very good. I find better product selection myself at Walmart compared to K-Mart and prices are cheaper.

Probably not alone there. The reason Sears is becoming as extinct as a dinosaur.

They no longer exist in my area. I did shop there from time to time when they existed in my area but they were never busy places.

We still have a K-Mart near me. I wonder if they will be closing? They may survive as the store has a stable customer base built over many years and are situated in a good location. Unlike other Sears and K-Marts I've been to, the store and very clean and organized.

@dgobucks226 They use to big and important at one time but I guess they failed to adapt and they are following the way of the dinosaurs.

I was never really crazy about Kmart. Sears was okay for tools and maybe appliances, but they never stayed current with their clothing. I can't believe the one nearest us is still open.

That's a good point about staying current with their products. Their appliance department and tools were there best feature, and when our Sears got rid of appliances they eventually closed.

KMart is disgusting to me. I can't imagine shopping there. Sears is somewhere my husband will go for tools and we bought our washer and dryer there. I wouldn't go there for clothes or anything though. Actually, the local one in the mall closed this past spring. I won't be going there for anything any longer.

We do have a decent K-Mart near me although their prices are to high. Most K-Marts and Sears stores I've been to look so dated, dirty, and disorganized.
