I HATE Construction!

I just got home, via two turn around's and trying to find an open road to get home.
I was almost worried I would need to turn around a third time. But I finally found an open road and got through, so what normally takes about 6 minutes to get home from the Y, took probably 10 this morning.
However, I also have some good news.
I've been waiting since May for the letter from Social Services regarding my rent for the coming year beginning September 1. It finally made it's way to my mailbox. My rent portion went down $26.

I'm so happy about that. It will give me a little more wiggle room in my monthly Social Security payment. I can breathe easier once again.
For those keeping tabs on my monthly weigh-in. It's tomorrow. I'm hoping for good things because my birthday weigh-in was good, so I'm hoping for a few more pounds with all the work I'm doing in the fitness center, not just the pool. By the way, this is the 12-month, 1st anniversary of the food program, so the side by side picture will be last year at this time and the picture that will be taken on Tuesday at Writer's Guild.
So, now this day is off and running. I'm going to get to your notifications, eat, and get more work done on my book today, which is going well. I realized this morning, I'm in writing mode. When in writing mode, I get less sleep. I haven't had a nap since Monday, but I am planning on one today. I can't keep getting up at 2:20 AM and not succumb to a nap at some point during the day. However, it's not a guarantee as I work to get this book to the finish line and into publication.
That's my morning so far, now to make breakfast and get back here to you all and read your posts and take care of notifications. I hope your day has gone well. Any good news? Tell me about it. Thanks for reading.
Picture - last month's weigh in. I hope the picture is vertical instead of sideways.
Edit - Thanks to @LadyDuck for the vertical, so it's now straight.

Always nice when a bill goes down. My last one was the power bill. Good luck on your next weigh in.

If anything they are going up here and it will take a while for them to see reason and give us a break with such high rents being on the money we are on.
Good luck with today that is anyway.

@lovinangelsinstead21 The rent for the complex went up, but the housing program I'm on, lowered the amount I pay, so that was good.

I so know what you mean, our entire city was a construction site for more than a year
. Add the neighbors that made changes in their apartments at the same time and... you know what I mean.
Glad to know your rent went down, a cut in expenses is always a good thing
. And I also hope you did well and you lost some pounds, guess this will make you a little happy
.
Take care and have fun!

Yes, construction is a drag when you have to deal with the drive near it - we had that on one nearby major street - it was a one lane on one side for a few weeks. That's good news about your rent! You've done well with that food program. Sounds like a motivating day for writing - it's nice when the words can just flow out of you.

The weigh in wasn't as good as I expected, but I know the cause of it.

I hate construction too especially when I have to go out of my way to get home.
Picture looks good Valerie and best of luck with this month.

10 minutes to reach your home due to construction? oh, here, when a bridge is repaired, it takes 10 minutes on the road, and we reach the destination after 15 minutes.

I did not do much, paid a few bills and got groceries, not many.
I got stuck when they were paving the other night, I had to wait 10 minutes.

It' sideways!
I hate road construction too! I think they have finally taken a break on it here. Although that might just be because of the rain.

Ana fixed it, and I'm going to re-post it.
They should be finished with all construction in time for winter.

@just4him I was just letting you know. I know pictures can be finicky
I don't often go to the part of town that they do the construction in, so it doesn't really affect me and my traveling much.

@thislittlepennyearns Unfortunately this construction is on my usual route home from the Y. Tomorrow, I'll take the alternative route home. If I remember.

We only had a bill down because we didn't have the fridge. But I got a very bad feeling that were going to have more to pay next monh. twenty six dollars is a huge discount, that's a good reason to jump for joy.

I have a smartphone, but I have limited data, so I don't use it for the Internet, only talk and text. Which I've probably already used half my allotment for minutes on that as well, yesterday. I usually make it through the month with lots of minutes to spare, so hopefully that will be the case this month despite my huge usage yesterday.
