Mr. X has a snoring problem - one that is so bad that he awakens from sleep feeling as though he is choking. Mr. X decides that his wife is trying to stifle him in his sleep and moves to another room. The problem continues - even worse and Mr. X finally decides to seek help. Now I wonder - why would he immediately think that his wife is trying to stifle him? Obviously he doesn't trust his wife very much, and she did tell him that his snoring sounds like a truck. Do you or your partner snore? Is it bad enough to keep you awake or make you prefer to sleep in another room or the living room couch? can one get rid of snoring?

Sounds as if they don't have a good relationship if he thought that. My husband snores occsionally, but nothing that a well-placed jab can't sort out

As @NJChicaa mentioned it sounds like sleep apnea. My son in law also used a CPAP machine cause his snoring was horrible. It is a little disturbing if Mr X thought his wife was trying to stifle him

@Kandae11 I'm not sure. I think it's covered with health insurance

I won't feel safe if I suspected that of my sleeping partner. Is the CPAP machine expensive?

I don't think I would sleep beside someone I felt might 'stifle' me in my sleep! What kind of relationship would that be? I have sleep apnea. Pretty used to tell me that I rattled the windows in the house when I snored. I finally told my doctor about my loud snoring... She sent me to have a sleep test done. Now, I use a CPAP machine to stop the snoring. (I am also losing weight and hope I won't need the CPAP machine one day.) Yes, when friends stay the night with me, they usually end up moving to our couch after I start snoring. Losing weight is one way you can control snoring. Although being overweight is not the only cause for snoring. Check out this link:
WebMD explains the basics of snoring.

@Kandae11 *grinning at you* No, I didn't snore when I was still married. Getting divorced and all the fighting that accompanies divorce is what caused me to gain weight in the first place. Thanks... Yeah, sleep apnea can be deadly if not treated.

"Rattle the windows" -you would have needed a sound proof room @DaddyEvil. Didn't your wife complain?. I am glad the CPAP machine works , and I wasn't aware that overweight could cause it too.

Yes one can get rid of snoring , sinuses and sleep apnea. Put two drops of cow ghee in each nostril immediately before going to bed. Ghee should be of desi Indian cow breeds (not Holstein or Jersey or Texas cows). Lie flat on the bed without a pillow for a few minutes so that the ghee reaches your throat. I hope cow ghee is available across the globe ! "Ghee is a class of clarified butter that originated from the Indian subcontinent. "

@BabeSays The karate moves and teeth rubbing can't be good for the partner who is trying to sleep.

You mean I would not love. If my partner has a snore that is too loud, I would sleep in another room. snoring or not, separate bedrooms have always been my preference anyway.

My husband said that I snore. He said it's a bit loud but he doesn't wake me up to stop so I think it's not that loud. But when it is him who snore and it gets guttural, I wake him up. But when it's not, I just let him.

I hope there is a reason why he did not trust his wife. My husband does not snore and he never complained that I do, so I suppose that I do not snore either.

My husband doesn’t snore, thank goodness. Snoring can be cured with jaw extenders, a sleep apnea machine, and in some cases with surgery. I don’t understand why he won’t trust his own wife.

It could be sleep apnea. I have that and it does cause me to snore. I use a CPAP machine and it stops the snoring and helps me to sleep much better.

@Kandae11 I didn't but some people do. What happens is that you stop breathing and then you wake up multiple times per night. My sleep test said that I was waking up 30 times per hour.

My husband often snores badly whenever he is under stress from work. Then, it is just a matter of rearranging his posture in bed, so that he could breath easier.

Well I am wondering how he is coping now that he had seek help. I think there are some health issues that is related to snoring. I am imagining that he may be chubby because one of the causes for it is his airflow is getting smaller because of him getting fat so when air goes through it produces sound because of tightening of the airflow. There is also a condition where the snorer just suddenly stops breathing and that is the dangerous one which he should have his doctor checked up.

maybe the man has a problem with his respiratory pattern. it is not good to snore. some older people say when one is very tired and sleeps, he snores. i think it is not true.
