Sometimes Procrastinating Pays Off

United States
September 16, 2018 11:21am CST
My daughter and I planned to go to the Dollar Tree yesterday but for whatever reason we never got around to it. I was a bit disappointed because there were a few things I needed but nothing that was urgent. Mostly the weather was nasty and I think that's happened. As many times as we were going to go we just didn't. Now today it's a beautiful sunny day and we're heading out to the Dollar Tree. I think putting it off from yesterday to today was the best idea. Not only are we going to do the Dollar Tree but either pick up or go out for lunch. Does procrastinating pay off for you sometimes?

Yes it does, I remember last year that I wanted to buy a pair of shoes, I waited and waited and finally I got the shoes at 60% discount.

@Marilynda1225 I know that usually my size remains, it's always the biggest and the smallest that are leftover and discounted at the end of the season.

That's a great discount and worth the wait for your shoes

I think yes, last week we had to go to the bank, and on our way back there was an accident right where we had just turned. Had I made my usual stop it could have been us.

Sometimes is the key word. Most times it isn't beneficial to procrastinate

@Marilynda1225 I would not call that procrastinating. I would call that a wise choice because of bad weather not to go.

Yes it does and sometimes it is a good reason I do not get around to something. Hope you have a lovely day there now and find your goodies at the Dollar Tree.

Yes it does sometimes. But the important thing in your statement is "Sometimes" because if its always then it becomes a bad habit and its not advantageous anymore.

I remember my brother in law missed his usual train all because he dilly dallied and that train met with an accident killing countless.

Yes, it sometimes did. Just like my buying a new mascara because what I have has already depleted from constant use. I keep postponing it because I am felt lazy going to the mall after office hours in the early evening already. But when finally I decided to buy it last Saturday, when we went to the mall to attend their anticipated mass, it was on sale - at least 30% off. Thus, I bought two. I saved 60% for the two since I always buy every other two months anyway.

Then that was really a good bargain for buying two

I've had that happen to me on a number of occasions. And it usually seems to be with shopping. I'm sure that you're both out enjoying each other's company today and hopefully you had a nice lunch.

@Marilynda1225 I'm glad that Mr Sunshine has returned to your area. He's been shining brightly and making it hot here. But within the next few days he'll fade into the background as the tail end of Flo comes over us and brings us rain.

hahahahaha I wish I could say that since I do 99% of my shopping online (well that might be a slight exaggeration)

Oh yes! I have done the same thing as you with shopping. Whether it be weather or waiting for a sale on a particular item or receiving a coupon in the mail sometimes waiting it out can be very beneficial.

I've always wanted to try procrastinating but never got around to it. Just kidding. Yes, I have procrastinated myself into a good deal on occasion.
