Secret But Economical Dinner Tonight

So, tonight I am just keeping it simple for dinner. I took out some pork butt steaks and fired up the grill. I seasoned the pork butt steaks with some Rupena's Secret pork seasoning, and had some packets of sweet and sour sauce handy from earlier Chinese food offerings. I opened 12 packets of sweet and sour sauce packets and doused the pork butt steaks with the sauce with a baster brush. Set those bad boys on the hot grill and cook until they are done. Meanwhile, I put some frozen corn into a saucepan with a little bit of water and then added butter to it. Dinner should be good.

I've never had pork butt steaks. I've heard of them but I've never seen them in stores.

They are delicious and just as good, if not a wee bit better, than pork steaks. Well worth finding if you can find them. But it IS a bit of a Midwest thing. Both pork steaks and pork butt steaks.

Pork butt steaks are indeed delicious. They are good grilled, smoked, or braised. Never found one I did not like.

Always happy to help where I can. Granted, there will be no Rupena's in Australia, but they do have a website and do ship. Maybe you can still get some spices and barbecue sauces and what not? Might be worth a look.

You can find them at Rupenas.com. I think you can order certain things online. I used to live right down the street from their store, and travel once a month through town on business...so I have always had access to whatever they offer.

It sounds simple and good. We are wanting to marinate a pork loin roast with a mustard sauce. Hubby eats lots of mustard of various kinds. I have rinsed out many bottles with vinegar. We think it will make a tasty marinade when we get around to it.

It sounds like you are going to have an awesome dinner. As for me, I just had some shrimps and fried eggplant for dinner today. It was just a simple meal but I really enjoyed it. Goodnight
