What did you have for dinner last night?

I had to play a late night music gig last night, so I needed something quick and dirty to cook up before heading out. I chose Trader Joe's shiitake mushroom chicken, and "doctored" it in my typical fashion, adding some onion, green pepper and soy sauce. It was actually pretty delicious. Tonight, we have another gig at the same place, so I'll have to make a similar decision. I have some pasta and sauce, frozen Indian food, and frozen kun pao chicken here, but I may opt for some Thai soup, as I'm getting a little tired of my current "rotation." What did you have for dinner last night? Do you ever get tired of your "standard" dishes and need something new?

I bought a couple of big mushrooms this morning and I'm just going to fry them as is and have them on toast - like I used to have them when I was a kid.

Do mushrooms provide any real nutrition? I honestly don't know! It sounds good, though.

I actually use food as a "comfort" thing. In a chaotic world, I like to have certain things I can count on.

I was lazy. I cut up a couple of sausages, cooked some greens and thawed some rice. I made the other half into my lunch for school so that is what I will have today too, plus some carrots and corn I cooked after I had eaten. I just figured out a good way that I like to cook carrots (I don't really like carrots.) I shred them, cook them in olive oil with a teeny bit of salt and then add honey at the end.
