Does This Happen With Your Discussions Too?

Sometime I devote lot of time in researching on a subject to prepare an interesting / informative discussion on Mylot. I subject it to spell check. I check the punctuations. I decorate with smileys. And expect a lot of responses for the discussion. But unfortunately many a times I don’t receive many responses to such discussion. On the contrary when I prepare a discussion, very casually and post it surprisingly I get many responses! It happens with you too? If so, what do you think the reason behind this?

If I knew the exact formula for writing a post that attract a lot of response I could be making more in terms of earnings. It's a hit or miss process for me.

Yes, you have got a point there dear friend! I think more than the discussion it is the confidence people have in you to get the response back from you many a times which attract the people to your discussion! May be I am wrong too?

It has always been the case, some discussions that you judged "interesting" get very few responses and others get many responses with no reason for that.

This happens with me. It just seems to be the nature of the site. Something that you think isn't particularly interesting will get lots of interest and vice versa.

I think , basically people come here to participate and have normal gossip as they have in their routine life after a day's serious work! So they relax here with such light discussions!

Yes, that happens with everyone on myLot. The more effort we seem to put into a discussion, the fewer respondents we seem to have on that discussion. Although, I have found that since I write discussions so rarely, people will finally respond when they can't find anything newer I've written!

I've been here for a couple of days, I still do not know everything, but I noticed that sometimes I have very little discussion, and sometimes a lot. I do not know what the reason is, maybe because I'm new. I do not know if it's always a short post or an uninteresting one, because I've seen a lot of posts with just one sentence and a lot of discussion underneath.

I guess this has happened to me as well. The popularity of your discussions mostly depends on how many people are interested in it, and if it is easy to respond to. Sometimes you can put a lot of effort into one discussion, but then not get many responses, and other times you can just say "what's your favorite ___?" and get 50 responses!

@AKRao24 I think so too. Additionally, English isn't everyone's first language, and some people might find it hard to respond to the more difficult (but to me also more interesting) discussions.

for me, i think i should not think hard if my discussions do not get likes or comments in the first few hours. whatever i do or share or feel, i share them by discussions. i even do not think about topics, and i type as if my mind is a tape recorder, encoding the situations without even editing the thoughts and ideas. that is why i have so many grammatical errors and in spelling, that i edit once i respond to a comment on the same discussion.
