A Nice Veterans Day Surprise

This morning Son2 arrived at our house around 10:30 a.m. in order to ride with my missus and my down to my folks' house to celebrate my mom's 81st birthday. I heard him pull in the drive and then heard 2 car doors slam.
Since we were expecting him to come alone as his gf was working this weekend, I looked out the window to see who was with Son2. Imagine my surprise when I saw Son1 standing in the driveway admiring The Beast.
I immediately realized the two of them had conspired to surprise me and my missus by having Son1, who we thought to be still in North Dakota, show up at our door this morning. I didn't tell the missus who was with Son2. I just told her he was not alone. She assumed his gf had changed her plans and come after all.
The look on her face when she saw Son1 walk through the door was priceless.
The look on my father's face when he saw his AF Officer grandson walk in his door on Veteran's Day was beyond priceless.

Years ago, first hubby when he was just a Boyfriend. He had two older brothers. We knew one was coming in, having just finished boot camp. Well he flew in to where oldest brother lived and they drove in together. Then flew in the girlfriend of one, picked up the girlfriend of the other. Five boys in that family. One finishing boot camp, the next one, my bf leaving for boot camp. It was a big feeling of surprise, excitement, and military pride.
