No Dinner for Me

This is dedicated to my dear friend, @Always Smiling, who teases me about my eating all the time. Well, there will not be any cooking, ordering, delivery, or dining out for us this evening. My husband and I had a huge and late lunch at our country club today. We are stuffed! If anything, I may nibble on fruit or pecan pie. Trust me. I am not on a diet either. Do you eat just because the clock tells you to eat?

I do somewhat eat by the clock, but sometimes in the evening it is just a snack. I have to eat at regular intervals for the diabetes. You exercise all the time as well, by all of your walking. You can afford to eat all the time.

If we are animals, we should not be eating the way we do, right? Feel hungry at specific time, get up at specific time, etc. I wonder how we would be if we were truly left to be in jungles...without any contemporary lifestyles. I still wonder what those remote tribals eat.

Definitely eating at regular intervals with diabetes is a must. I assume it's because you have to keep your sugar levels at a certain level. With the food I consume, I'd have to walk and workout at the gym from sunrise to sunset!

Nope I only eat when I am hungry which isn't as much now as it was years ago. I remember as a teen having a burning hunger in my stomach constantly and I ate constantly. No matter how much I ate my stomach never felt quite full. I hated the feeling of being that ravenous. My boyfriend and I were talking about it last night how when we first met he brought over a pizza and gets would eat like two pieces and I would eat the rest. I don't feel hungry much now but when I do eat I eat huge portions. My boyfriend always says I eat like a 200 pound man but I'm 115 pounds.

@DianneN we all need exercise! Me not putting on much weight doesn't encourage me to exercise and that's not really good.

You are still young and very active, and are lucky to be so nice and thin with your huge appetite! I eat huge portions, too, but would be a cow if I didn't exercise. And I do not want to look like a moo moo cow.

@shaggin You are still active, but keep it in mind for the future. Not to shame you, my DILs and sons exercise whenever they can. It is important to work certain muscles and get the heart rate up.

Nope. I'm in exactly the same situation. Had all-you-can-eat Indian today. @Vandana7 would be proud. All-you-can-eat for me means...all I could eat. It's dinner time and I'm still too stuffed to jump.

. Normally, we'd still eat our dinner at our normal time, Horse, if we were hungry, which we usually are. However, this huge, late lunch stuffed us to the gills! We wound up eating nothing for the rest of the evening and lived!

No, i eat whenever I am hungry already. Though, when at the office, i eat because it's our lunchtime and snacktime already. We are nit allowed to go down to buy foods when it isn't the time for those yet. So, i buy food during those times and eat them in my ta le when I am already hungry.

If I don't eat when I feel hungry I could have a seizure so I try not to wait longer than necessary. But I don't eat for pleasure, I eat for necessity.

In general, I eat when my stomach tells me it's hungry. That could be at any time of the day or night. I found that if I eat more frequent smaller meals throughout the day, my mood and my metabolism stay pretty steady. I also don't stuff my face as much when I eat frequently throughout the day.

@DianneN Of what use the tears of regrets when love is not around anymore. I savor the moments rather than food. Sorry - yesterday I learned about a son who tied his aged father outside an old age home, in biting cold, and ran away. I am grateful to god for my parent, however difficult he might be, and I am grateful that he made me realize the value in time.

That's a great idea. My husband usually orders something for himself for dinner if I've been out to lunch with friends. I can't work up an appetite after a large or late lunch. I didn't eat a thing Sunday night, nor did my husband. However, I did dig into that pecan pie on Monday!
