Another one of those days

Let's back up to last night.
Hubby realized he has another UTI. Of course he does, he has been off antibiotics for a week. I had a "transfer of care" or "getting to know you" doctor appointment today, with the same doctor we have set up for Bob's primary care. I called and left a message asking if she could see him as well.
Although she did not return my call, she did also see him at my appointment, take his vitals, etc. Do a culture. Prescribed an antibiotic.
All in all, it took two hours.
We were driving the van because the car did not start this morning. That is a whole different story, as it should have. It was given a new battery yesterday and the alternator and rest of the system was checked. So we took the van.
Hubby wanted to go to the library in McPherson, so we decided to fill our prescriptions there afterwards. On our way to McPherson we stopped for pizza.I am glad we did.
We also put gas in the van while there and headed for home.
We came to an intersection and the van. . . just. . . died. . . bear in mind it has a good battery, and a new alternator. We were in the process of calling for road service when the tow truck showed up. He was going home, but got us loaded, and handed the truck off to a coworker.
Our van is in our driveway now. Hubby got some advice about the car, and it did eventually work. It seems if you start it with a jump start it will throw a security lock on the ignition. So the car starts now.
Good thing, as hubby has an appointment tomorrow.
I was pleased with the appointment I had today.
Hubby has not had a nap today. He is doing well.
The appointment tomorrow is not related to the current troubles, but it is some testing to rule out various reasons for him to have lost so much weight.
So, that was my day. We did very little at home. I have an interesting inspiration to "upcycle" some drawers and shelves that I hope to do tomorrow.
I am working on emptying some cupboards to move them to the laundry room.
It is hard to believe it is only Wednesday.

Wow, when it rains it pours. They say that "car trouble" is redundant, because if you have a car you have troubles! Glad you've got things (hopefully) fixed so your transportation is reliable. I also pray your hubby gets good news at the doctor.

@GardenGerty -- make sure they don't get the two scopes mixed up (which one goes down the throat and which one goes up the butt) when they're doing it!!!

@GardenGerty While it's not horrible here today, it is cloudy enough to give me headache. I had to lie down for an hour. Not so bad now.

I am, because we do not have people who we could call to help us. We have outlived or moved out of range for everyone.

@GardenGerty I remember for several years my girlfriend and I lived out in the middle of nowhere. I mean, there wasn't anybody around for miles. I always worried about there being some kind of emergency and being stuck without anyone to help us (or having to wait an hour for somebody to get there to help us)

Well the car runs today. He will talk with Sid the mechanic about what to do about the van this evening. Sid basically helped him reset the security code on the Impala.

It sometimes seems like I work harder when I do not have a job. We are still spending more time away from home than I want to. I think tomorrow, Friday, I will stay home.

It is just bad to have several but have them not working. I am thankful that we learned something last night about the security code. I am thankful that we did not have trouble with the van while we had it in Oklahoma. There is so much to be really thankful for.

I have been through a number of breakdowns, but no wrecks, so I am okay. I keep that insurance.
