My great great niece is nicknamed bean.
Auto correct before she was born is responsible for that happening.
My great niece texted or messaged her mom that she was making "ham and beans". She probably did it through a voice app, as she likes to do that.
Her phone changed it, and said she was making "human beings". So before the baby was born and ever since, they have called her "Bean".
It is an okay nickname, and has a funny back story, so that is good.

I was going to name my second daughter "Braxton".
I went into labor with about a week before her due date and had practically begged my neighbor to babysit my other daughter while I go to the hospital. She kept telling me; "Your not in labor. It's just the braxton hicks." (She obviously didn't want to babysit)
My daughter was born 10 minutes after I got to the hospital. I couldn't wait to go home and introduce my neighbor to the "Braxton Hicks".

So, did you actually name her Braxton Hicks? Was your neighbor even a little apologetic?

@MALUSE. Apparently, they are named after the doctor who first described them 1872. John "Braxton Hicks".

At seven months old, she cannot object too much. My great niece is no longer with the daddy. He INSISTED on a particular name. My great niece was "allowed" to choose a middle name. He was controlling and abusive. So her name her mama uses now is Rosalyn, or Rose. I like that and she will be called that way as she grows up.

@LadyDuck I love them as names. Her name chosen by dad is Jenny Lou after some family of his and so that she would be Jenny like in the movie Forest Gump. My great niece says if he ends up losing his rights she will change it formally.

Yes, at least there is a story. Now I was called "Heifer" by my cousin. Our grandpa raised cattle. Guess it was easier for her than Heather.

@wolfgirl569 She was younger than me and would not have known the mean connotation of it at that time.

@GardenGerty At least there was a possible reason for that instead of just being mean.

No, it is not our favorite. I kind of like knowing this story, though.

In one of the Inspector Gamache series of books, someone named their kid Bean and wouldn't tell anyone if it was a girl or boy...

I thought I had heard that before. Yeah, this was before they knew what the "human being" was, even if she was ham and beans.

Yes. Autocorrect can give us quite a few laughs. Bean is a cute nickname for a baby, I think.

No, nothing wrong. Not embarrassing or inappropriate. Just an illustration of modern life.

@GardenGerty I think it's quite nice to have a nickname if it's not too offbeat.

I have heard of that as well. Some of that has to do with pictures that say "now your baby is this big" And when you get to a certain month they will say, "your baby is as big as a bean." I think it is cute as well.
