A Christmas story in 100 words

For the last meeting of myLotter John Welford’s (@indexer) writing group, the challenge was to write a story with a Christmas theme. The story had to be exactly 100 words long. You can read John’s entertaining story here: http://www.mylot.com/post/3236737/a-christmas-challenge.
John suggested that members might like to try doing the same. I decided to take up his suggestion so here is my effort. It doesn’t have a title but it is 100 words long.
The hunter could not believe his luck. Beside the cabin he could see a small group of deer. Raising his rifle, he eased himself from behind the tree. Taking careful aim he gently squeezed the trigger. The shot rang out in the cold air and the deer dropped like a stone.
The sound of the gunshot brought a bewhiskered figure lurching from the cabin. His fur-trimmed red suit barely covered his rotund form. He strode over to the felled deer, poked it with his toe then cried ‘Donner and Blitzen, some b*stard has shot Rudolph!’
The hunter slunk quietly away.
I don't have a photo of a deer but this was taken at Innsbruck Zoo.

Great story! But I don't like to see Rudolph killed off or Santa swearing! Definitely not for kids! LOL!

Isn't the story supposed to have a happy ending?
I thought christmas brings us hope for good life, love among us.
Here is my version for the story:
The hunter, feeling lucky, raised the reifle, aimed, and suddenly, the deer blinked to the hunter and messaged him with thelepatic skill.
"Spare my life I can help you with food". Hunter: "show me".
Jingle bells he heard and... Santa came with the slide and the deers. Hunter: "is this real?!". Santa took him for a ride, with that deer pulling the slide. The hunter promised to stop hunting. Santa said ho ho ho, gave food. Santa:"be a good person and life will be good to you. Marry christmas my dear deer hunter". The hunter was very happy. Marry christmas all.
I hope I got the christmas spirit right.

Oh dear...Thankfully Santa had the resources to treat Rudolf.
Otherwise it would have been disaster for the kids around the world.
Good story
