Peanut butter and honey

Peanut butter with honey, on toast. That is what the doctor suggests.
Hubby got good news, he has gained about six pounds.
The surgeon who did the procedures says, do not drink your coffee before you eat something.
I suggested toast. The doctor says toast with peanut butter and honey to protect his stomach.
That is easy medicine to swallow.
I think I shall mix some up to put on the table.
We have also heard good things about cinnamon, so I will stir that in as well.
Besides having gained weight, there is more good news. The ulcer does not seem to be caused by h. pylorii, so he does not have to be treated for that. H.pylorii is a bacteria, but it is resistant to many medicines. It can also be a carcinogen.
Almost as good as Mary Poppins and her spoon full of sugar.

I hate honey but peanut butter on toast is delicious. That sure is something easy to eat so not a burden like some things the doctor may have suggested. Filling up on coffee replaces hunger so that's a good thing the doctor said no coffee until he eats.
There is a member here at mylot who suffered very badly with H.pylorii. I had never heard of it before that.

The coffee is very acidic, the doctor said. That is true, though that it also takes up space that could go for food. We eat good breakfasts here, but the coffee and some of the meds he needs to take for his heart are hard on the stomach. We do eat peanut butter a lot.

@shaggin I hope it made you feel better. Often cranberry juice has too much sugar.

@GardenGerty when I was having chronic Utis the doctor gave me a list of things that weren’t good to drink. Iced tea, coffee and cranberry juice were on the list.

Are you allergic to it, or dislike the texture. Basically the doctor says it is like putting a glove over your hand before you stick it in acid. It will coat his stomach. I imagine that some of my good home made yogurt or even some cheese would work.

@LadyDuck We try to eat some yogurt every day. I even buy the milk for it from a special dairy products store because I like their business and animal care practices. It is better milk in our opinion. I thought I remembered you were allergic to peanuts.

@GardenGerty Yes I have a serious allergy to peanuts. More than cheese home made yogurt would be good, it also improve the bacterial flora on the guts.

See it is the acid in the coffee. It is a good thing to pay attention.

@GardenGerty This morning I made my coffee and thought about eating first and wound up not. It's a bad habit I have to change.

It is just important to coat his stomach before he has acidic food.

Yes. I remember when having an ulcer used to mean absolute blandness. It is good to see him putting on a little weight and having more hours when he is awake.

It depends on the proportions for sure. I think it makes it coat your stomach. Or it could just be that the doctor likes it himself.
