Made it back from the Rose Bowl!

Two of my band mates/friends and I went to the Rose Bowl. One of us, a retired lawyer, went to Ohio State University (one of the teams in the Rose Bowl), so we decided it was time. He was able to get us a decent price for tickets. We had a great time and made it back home safely. We stayed with our lead guitarist's daughter, along with her husband and kids, who live in the hills near Los Angeles. They're both in the entertainment industry. We watched both the parade and the game, meaning that I'll have pictures and stories about both. It was a festive atmosphere, an people were really nice to each other. I've never seen Americans behave better. I'll add more pictures and thoughts over the next few days. Have you aver been to a major "sporting event"?

@stbrians Yes especially when the person works a lot and gets to go have fun.

I am sipping milk and getting ready to "develop" the pictures.

@stbrians What will you most enjoy? The B-2 bomber that flew over us? The game itself? The parade? The slobbering dog at my friend's daughter's house? That's what makes trips like this so much fun.

It's great when people behave nicely. I hate it when the fans boo the team they're not part of.

I sat in the Ohio State section, and the fans were doing Ohio State chants, but they did not boo the opposing team. I'll write more about that aspect when I'm not heading off to work.

@TheHorse Rivalry between the different states if pretty fierce here, particularly in some sports.

No, I have never been to a major sporting event. I do not even believe we have anything like this in Europe.

I'm sure there are "important" soccer (football) matches there. I am not a college football fan. I just want to see what the "scene" was like.

@TheHorse Surely there are important soccer matches, but not a parade, I am sure of this.

@LadyDuck Ah, I hadn't thought of that. The parade was fun. People were in good spirits, and some of the floats were really fun.

Wow that would be such fun to actually go to the parade. I watch part of it every year. I have been to NFL games.

I've been to a couple of NFL games. But no playoff games. And NBA player's girlfriend was in my psychology class and took me to a Warriors playoff game. That was pretty cool.

That's great that you got to go to that parade, very cool! I have been to a baseball game, saw the Colorado Rockies play, if that counts lol

Baseball games are fun for me, since I grew up watching baseball. But if you're not really into baseball, you can people-watch. Heh.

@MommyOfEli2013 Just "experiencing the culture." What kinds of music did you sing in that choir? I've been in a few choirs over the years.

@TheHorse It was not my favorite thing, but it was when my choir went on a tour in Colorado...so we all went to the game.

Ultimately, it wasn't about the game. It was about the people there.

Never been because I am not much into sports. I would love to see the Rose Bowl Parade though. Great photo and glad you have a good time and got home safely. Looking forward to more photos and stories.

There are so many stories to tell. I will try to get to a few of them. None involve the outcome of the game itself.

Same here until a couple of years ago. One of the Warriors' girlfriends (now his wife) was in my Psychology class, so she took me to a Warriors playoff game. That was pretty cool.

I'm not into college football either. I just wanted to check out the "scene" and hang with my friends.
