Government Workers Would Be Getting Paid RIGHT NOW

So, it is all Trump's fault that all of these poor government workers are not getting a paycheck while the government remains shutdown in a standoff between Trump and the democrats over funding for the wall to be built. Hmm. That is QUITE interesting actually. I will not get into the details of, nor my thoughts ABOUT the wall. It's not my point here. The thing is, the media has been showing us the democrats, mainly Schumer and Pelosi, out there telling us how horrible it is that President Trump is using the government workers as pawns. He is holding them hostage. The democrats are out there, front and center, talking about how much they care deeply about the government workers who cannot pay their mortgage, put gas in their cars, whose kids are starving all because of Trump. But... But... On two separate occasions the republicans in the House introduced bills to immediately pay the government workers DURING the shutdown. But... But... Both of those bills were REJECTED by the democrats. They voted almost unanimously against the bills. On one of the bills only 6 democrats said yes. On the other only 10. The workers would be getting paychecks AS WE SPEAK had the democrats voted yes on this republican legislation. But don't hold your breath waiting for the liberal media to let you in on this little secret. They are too busy gathering their sound bites of the democrats scolding Trump, and next they might even start showing you pictures of the emaciated children of the government workers.

No. But you are RIGHT. It's only a horrible thing right now because Trump decided to do it. I hate shutdowns as much as anyone. What I hate more is this political game that gets played when it happens, and everyone wants to blame the other side. Historically, what is even more frustrating is that it is ALWAYS aimed at the republicans. When Clinton shut down the government it was the republicans fault. When Obama did it it was the republicans fault. And even when a republican does it now...it is the republicans fault. Ugh. According to what they TELL you. Not necessarily according to the facts.

@rebelann Love it that you mentioned Obama. The media seems to forget all the details.

No. They did not. They were CRs ONLY focusing on paying the workers. Why can't libs ever just actually read the facts instead of simply not researching ANYTHING and just making assumptions?

I heard that same thing. I think that when there is a shut down, it is all of them that shouldn't get a paycheck. Let them see how it feels to be without the money, the workers should never be held accountable for that. Bet the shut downs wouldn't last very long if that were the case.

What happened to non-partisan, impartial reporting, giving both sides of a story?
