Boy, they always have snow days but never..................

I took this shot of Meetzee, left and Max in 2011 before I brought them to my home.

A sandstorm day. Have you ever experienced a sandstorm? When I say those storms are nasty I mean really, really, really nasty. Granted, icy snow storms are no treat to endure, I surly do not want to have to endure one but at least in a snow storm there aren't any granules of sand slamming your house and car not to mention you if you dare venture out. Then, to make matters worse, these storms usually happen in spring so along with the sand a lot of insects of all kinds are carried along to your home. I'm so tired of getting all these weird insects that are blown in from the southern Chihuahuan desert region where there are a whole lotta insects I wish would stay there. The link I shared is mostly about the soil but I wish they would explain the thousands of insects it houses as well. A lot of the sandstorms that hit my region are from the more southwestern parts of Mexico.

Yeah they are. They're mom's cats and have been together for over a decade before she passed away.

Love those cute puter taters. Just love 'em. Not sandstorms though we have dirt storms when the wind is up- dirt off the fields- and tumble weeds blowing into the windshield. Not fun.

I hope by puter taters youz refurin to the felines. I don't like those tumble weeds either. Most are teaming with biting wee insects that I just wanna squash ... trouble is I can't see em.

A sandstorm certainly doesn't sound like fun. I'm sure getting hit with blowing sand is painful

If you're wearing shorts it sure can be and considering most of them occur in very warm weather it's unlikely most people would be wearing long sleeves or pants.

Yuck, I would think that the sandstorms would cause a lot of damage. Don't they scratch paints and such. That sounds awful.

Yep, they do at that but the worst part, for me anyway, is all the biting insects they bring in.

That's so sad to hear. Even though there's nothing else you can do, I guess this is how nature works, doesn't it?

We went through a few dust-storms rather than sandstorms when we were first married. Everything in the house was covered in dust by the time they were over. I don't recall them bringing insects though thank goodness. We did have a plague of grasshoppers once and people were putting screens over the fronts of their cars to try to stop them clogging up the radiators.

I've only seen grasshoppers if it's rainy but not when it's dry.

Sandstorms aren't as dangerous as Winter storms with all that snow, ice and freezing temps but they are nasty and so very irritating. I'm glad you like my shot, I took it in 2011 when they were still living at mom's house.
