I do not put much stock in it, but it is fun to believe

In our part of the country we must be on our way to spring, because it was overcast and the ground hog did not see his shadow.
There are lots of clouds, with occasional sun peeking through. The temperature is moderate and that is great.
I want to be in about ten places at once, inside and out.
The birds are actually taking bird baths.
Hubby is napping.
I will probably be here more when it is dark, and I have to come in.
That groundhog sure is not at my house.

Days like today especially make me want it to stay warm and be spring.

So there is not spring at Doodle's house. I do not mind it being winter when it is time. I do not want it here in March, April or May.

@GardenGerty Today was up in the 50s. Doodles enjoyed his walks without shivering for a change.

I don’t believe in it either but it is always fun to see if he sees his shadow or not. We have woodchucks in my yard that did some damage but they sure are cute. I saw one try to climb my Apple tree once and got half way up and fell down.

Aren't woodchucks and ground hogs the same? We had a baby possum climb our cherry tree once.

If the ground hog sees his shadow, in other words if it is sunny, there will be six more weeks of winter.

It will still be at least six weeks before I am confident that it is spring.

I'm not putting much faith in the groundhog but I am hoping for an early spring.

I just figure it will come when it gets here. Yesterday we had a nice drive in the sun, no wind.

@GardenGerty it is surprising how many areas have a groundhog prognosticator. In Ontario we had Wiarton Willy and Fenwick Flossie.

Yes, it is fun to dream. On the other hand I would rather have winter now and not in March and April, or even May.

@porwest I would have to think on that. Possibly someplace near an ocean.

@GardenGerty I'd rather have spring all year round. Do you know of such a place that has spring like weather all year round?
