I am sitting in the lounge room with my dad and the phone rang. It was some dude telling me that I was in a recent car accident. 
And I was badly injured. I can't believe this is happening to me! 
How stupid are these calls though! They almost always say "Hi ma'am I'm calling you in regards to the car accident you had recently. Were you in a car accident?"
So....you're telling me I was in one but asking me if I was? 
They never tell me my name either lol Always "Ma'am." A name is something they kinda need to know to get hold of the poor injured soul.
Sometimes I play along with them and tell them how upsetting it was and how much pain I am in and then when the time is right I tell them to shove their scamming ways up their butt. ( comments may vary )
These scammers are unbelievable. 
Do you ever get these phone calls where they try to make you pay "insurance money" for the "car accident" you were in?

@LadyDuck Totally agree! We get them often. It's usually that scam where people tell me I have a virus on my computer. A couple days ago we got one. I put them on loud speaker so my dad could hear. And I whispered to my dad "I can get him to hang up."
The guy on the phone rambled about how they are getting reports that my computer has a virus blah blah all that bull crap. I said "Oh....I don't have a computer." And he hangs up haha

@VivaLaDani13 My youngest daughter would not believe it and they did the same to her the same day. She took out the phone and hid it. I don´t know if she is still paying for it. But she only uses her cellphone.

They have not got that far yet here but they try things on like you owe the Electric company a huge bill and they need to collect it and how do you want to pay it.
I just put the phone down on them always now.
You can bet if you were to do the same thing to them they would not like it at all.

Oh wow, I haven't had a scam like that happen to me yet, but I'll be on the lookout for it if they ever do try to call me.
Weirdly, I have been getting a lot of scam phone calls where the voice at the other end (or the voicemail message if I don't answer) is speaking to me in Chinese. Like how the hell are you supposed to scam me if I can't even understand what you are saying to me? That one baffles me.

@VivaLaDani13 If the Indians are speaking English, I can make out what they say most of the time. But if they are talking fast, it is sometimes hard to keep up with them.
Don't you talk to DJ on the phone? Can you understand her? From watching her YouTube videos, she speaks good English.

@moffittjc Yeah I am the same. Sometimes I can't understand either if they go to fast. Kinda like Scottish people. There are some I can understand but others speak so fast with a thick accent that I can't understand a thing.
I can. At first I had a little bit of trouble but over time it became easier. But we haven't spoken that much at all really. I've sent her a lot of videos via Facebook and I don't believe she struggles to understand me at all. She's only sent me a few and there's probably only been 2 sentences I couldn't make out but that's also because she has a very soft voice. It's so cute! I wanna hug her voice!

Lol, you play along that is the funny part when you play with the scammers because you know they are scammers. I hate them they drive me nuts and the tried this one on my husband grandfather once. Calling saying my husband was arreset and in jail and he needs money to get out. He was like wait would his wife take care of this or she would call. So he told the guy that he would call him back later and to leave his info so he did. Then he called my husband but he was at work and told him to text him what was the matters
My husband told him no he is at work not in a different state arrested nor hurt so not to give that person a call nor money.

I used to get the IRS scam calls but now I get spam calls where the voicemail left is always the same and in Chinese. Never had any other calls... I never pick up unknown numbers anyway, so maybe I did get calls like that but they just never bothered to leave a voicemail.
These people are idiots... the least they can do is say your real name... And if they are saying you were in a car accident they shouldn't ask if you were in one after saying that...

@lovebuglena I agree with you. Idiots indeed! And that's the thing that is so dumb is that they never say my name. They never request to speak to anyone in particular. If it was real they would ask for the person who in was in the accident just like you said. Some times it makes me laugh and other times it annoys me to the point I yell at them for being so dumb and insensitive. Sometimes they make a good outlet for me to vent any anger I may have inside lol
