Good morning everyone! I hope you are all are having a good day so far. I am impressed as I was able to sleep until 3:30am today which doesn't happen too often. Lately, I have been up around 1:30 or 2am Just that little bit of extra sleep can make me feel so much better. About 10 years ago, I moved from Tennessee to live with my brother in Las Vegas, NV. I was a little leery at first but soon found out that it was just like any other city. The only different may be the people because it's a melting pot and a lot of people either want to win big or they are all about themselves. But, you can find some really nice people there as well. I really miss Vegas at times. They sky is always blue as it rarely ever rains. There is always something to do. There are no bugs like mosquitos or ticks because it gets too hot. It does get cold during the winter as it is the dessert but it's no where near as cold as where I am now. The major drawback is how hot it gets in the summer and it's a dry heat like when you open an oven door but no humidity at all. And there are no tornados, but there is some major wind that can blow through at 40 to 50 or more miles per hour. If I had a chance, I would move back. I really loved it there and didn't realize how much until we left. Maybe one day... Anyway, I hope everyone has a fantastic day today!

We were in Las Vegas in August 2007 when there was a hurricane that caused major flooding. I always got at least one day of heavy rain every time I visited Las Vegas. No luck I suppose.

I've never been to Vegas but hopefully one day I'll get there. I had a friend once who went to Vegas, came home, packed and moved there.

We were in Vegas quite a while ago... but it was a fun town for sure! Did I ever mention how much I hate ticks!! That's reason enough for me to move somewhere hot!!!

My best friend's daughter lives there. My most favorite place to live was the little country village that we lived in for 21 years. I wouldn't want to move back there again, the lots are too large to maintain, but we would consider moving to the city not too far from there. Maybe for our retirement years.

Did you like living there? I know the heat is not for everyone. We would try and wait and go out in the morning hours before it got too hot or go after the sun had set.

It really is a fun place to live as long as you know to be kind of leery of people you meet until you get to know them.

I live in a similar place to Vegas. Maybe you could find a house there rather than where you are now, but that would mean another major move.

I enjoyed a visit to Las Vegas but I would not like that terrible heat. I really enjoy the four season that we have in the northeast. Though as we know, I escape to Florida during the winter.

I much prefer the dry heat over the humidity. I learned that you either wait until the sun goes down or go early in the morning to do shopping, etc.

When I lived in Memphis we would go to Vegas 2-3 times a year. The last time i was there I took someone who had never been to Vegas--neither of us were gamblers so after seeing the dam there really wasn't anything to do as it was Thanksgiving weekend 1976 (OMG! 43 years ago!! I was a baby!) and there weren't any headliners or good shows so I said that we should leave and go to La and see Laguna Beach, Malibu, Beverlt Hills, etc., and places I lived in 1959--OMG!! 60 years ago--YOU are making me old!!

I have been to Las Vegas many times. I loved it there years ago but now it has become too commercial with all the shopping malls. Also in the casino's when you won on the machine it only makes a sound and prints out the ticket which is not as exhilarating as when it paid out cash! MY favourite hotel is the Venetian. I love that place.

The Venetian is gorgeous! Not long after I moved there, my brother and I went casino hopping so he could show me all the casinos inside and out. It was fun. I loved living there and much prefer the dry heat over humidity.

Our son's bachelor party was in Vegas. I've been to Nevada several times, but never to Vegas by choice. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. I love living in CT and Florida. Another home would cripple me. Lol!

Sounds like good advantages to living in Vegas. Especially where the bugs are concerned. Not having any of those pesky insects is a definite plus. The heat would get me.
