A classic car song by a legendary group.
“Just a little deuce coupe with a flathead mill
But she’ll walk a Thunderbird like she’s standing still
She’s ported and relieved and she’s stoked and bored
She’ll do a hundred and forty with the top end floored”
The Beach Boys are the Godfathers of the California sound celebrating surf culture, hot rod car culture, fun fun fun in the California sun and beach girls. The hot rod culture had been going strong since the early 50s and there had been previous hot rod hit songs but the Beach Boys took it to another level.
With music by Brian Wilson and lyrics by local LA disc jockey Roger Christian, “Little Deuce Coupe” is a modified souped up 1932 Ford Model 18. The song was B side to the “Surfer Girl” single and appears on that album. “Little Deuce Coupe” reached Billboard #15.

The Beach Boys and Jan and Dean had some music that sounded a bit the same. I used to confuse the two from time to time. Little Deuce Coupe was a good one.
