Post Party Casserole

Parties are a lot of fun, and incidentally my wife and I hosted one this past Saturday. As is always the case, even though we had a LOT of people over, we had WAY more food than even a starving nation could eat.
Bad joke? Sorry.
In any case, I made a ton of brats and hamburgers. We had overflowing tubs of sides. It was a very good party and a very good time, but already I am sick of eating what we had leftover.
Does ANYONE ever take any crap home with them?
Of course not, and so we wound up with the majority of the leftovers. I am sure I will have to freeze some of this stuff when all is said and done. It is NOT going into the trash, let me just clear that up right now.
So, what else to do?
Aha! In typical Porwest style we make a casserole, folks. That's right. Right along the lines of one of my smorgasborg casseroles. I cut up some brats. I had a little piece of a leftover steak left from another dinner. I cut that up. I cut up a hamburger. I tossed into the bowl some potato salad, some coleslaw, cut up half of a leftover onion, tossed that in. I added a bag of corn just for some fiber and bulk. Mixed all of this garbage together and will bake it for about an hour. I will top it with some cheese.
I might need a puke bag, but I bet despite it all, it will be good. And thank GOD my wife has an iron stomach and has been trained well enough having to live with a cheap b*stard like me that she actually enjoys these kinds of meals.
Eat on. PLEASE respond to my post so I can become rich and not have to continue to eat this garbage.

No! just No!
I am cheap so I would cook the right amount of food in the first place so i would not have to make a vomit casserole.
Next time cut back, burgers and brats with 2 sides, baked bean and potato salad. One dessert. Most people don`t eat more than one plate of food.
I would not eat that crap you mix up, but you could all week while I eat out.

@andriaperry It actually turned out to be very good. Sometimes certain things just SEEM like vomit, but when you think of a lot of foods, many are just variations of some other food, and so really this was just a casserole that incorporated a bunch of food that might wind up all together on your plate anyway.

@TheSojourner She really gave me what for, didn't she? I always think of many foods that are just combinations of a bunch of other foods tossed together. Pizza, for example. Scrambled eggs when you throw in all the fixings is just a mashed up omelet. Soups and casseroles actually were practically invented by peasants just trying to stretch their food and their budgets. You'd be surprised how good some of this stuff is...the secret is knowing what you can get away with and what you can't. Like using a salmon patty leftover for something. Generally speaking a salmon patty is only good as a salmon patty—I learned the hard way.

@TheSojourner Oh, I am in no way suggesting there have not been "let's never do that again" moments. There have been plenty of those. But even those get somehow "repurposed." There is actually a story I should tell about a substitute I made once that turned out VERY badly. I should make a note to write about that one day.

It actually turned out to be quite delicious. Of course I did add some special touches. But it turned out way better than I thought. Always keep in mind some of the greatest dishes were either accidents or unintended mistakes. That's what I am going to go with on this one.

@just4him Me too. My wife LOVED it. I usually know when she really likes something I make because she always asks me, "Did you write it down?" To which my typical response is no. I should though. If the wife ain't happy, ain't no one happy.

Some of those items sound good separately, but together? I don't think I would be able to try it! Lol....but then again as you know I am a picky eater!

lol You baked potato salad and coleslaw? That should be interesting. I scrolled down so I wouldn't have to look at your picture. Ewww The food sounded good separately. You'll have to let us know how the casserole turns out. I wouldn't waste any food either.
