I Saved 33% This Week

I didn't need very much at the grocery store this week but I checked the BigY flyer and there were some things that we use regularly like yogurt and cheddar cheese that were on special and they had an additional digital coupon. They had eggs for 99 cents a dozen and Triscuits for 99 cents a box. I did buy some things at full prices like bread and some beef tips. I also bought a box of Polident, no I don't have false teeth, I wanted to try it on my toilet bowls and I am happy to say it does a very good job. But overall I am again delighted with my shopping at this store.

Both Aldi and Walmart have been in competition with pricing lately. I can get a dozen eggs for .59 cents a dozen at either store. The closest Big Y was in Mass and I never shopped there because of the distance. Never heard of using denture cleaner for toilet bowls. My clients would freak if I told them to toss a couple of them in the bowl.

I believe I've heard of people using polident to clean their toilet. I just noticed today that my 2000 flushes has run out. It ran out yesterday or the day before as I can recall having clear toilet water on those days, I just didn't actually think "huh, I need to get some more of this" until today. That's such a great savings . Does that store do double coupons?

Yes they do I believe but I didn't use anything but their own digital coupons.

@BelleStarr Oh okay, I see. I used to be a cashier for a grocery store. It was always amazing to see how people would stack a digital coupon with a physical one and then use those apps that give them money back for certain items.

Doing a lot of my food shopping at Dollar Tree (they have a huge freezer section) and basically I don't spend more than $40 a week on groceries!

I have never shopped at Dollar Tree, I am not sure there is one near me. I do go to Dollar General and Family Dollar once in a while but I need fresh veggies and fruit.

Yes that is a good reason to go, I buy my toilet paper at Dollar General, it is always better priced than any of the grocery stores, or I have it delivered from Walmart where the prices are also better.

@BelleStarr We do not have Walmart and no Dollar General, usually Aldi offers good quality and good price. We are both picky about the quality of toilet paper.

That's a remarkable total on your grocery receipt. You know I still giggle when I read your total for taxes, you know what we pay up here. Is polident cheaper or easier on the environment that you decided to use it in place of regular cleaner? I buy the disposable brush ends which already have cleaner on them, and its activated and turns blue when you put it into the water. I like that product, its scrubbing bubbles, it does a good job.

I am not sure about the environment but it is so good that I didn't think about that. I am not sure it is less expensive either but I had used the blue cleaner in the tank and it stained the bowl so I was trying to see if it worked, well it did so I am impressed.
