Water shortage situation

We just have a heavy downpour of rains the past several hours. Some nearby cities and towns declared to suspend classes for fear that the rains may cause floods to some low lying areas we have.
As I heard in the news I immediately checked the water levels of our dam to see if the rains does indeed have any impact on them. Upon checking online it looked like it increased from 158-159m which I think is a good sign but they are still in critical levels until they reach 210m before it becomes to normal levels again. We need more strong rains in their area to collect the rains and increase their level.

@LadyDuck Looks like I have misread your statement above. Anyways where do you get your water in your place? I know your place has a lot of mountain ranges. Do you have to construct dams to save water of you get it from the ice that melts during summer?

Well they are hoping on that one but we wouldn't want the flooding it comes along with. That is the situation where we really do not like to experience when rains do come in bulk. But in the area where the dam is located it would be a blessing to fill it up again so water crisis would be averted. The forecasters say that they would normalise this September if the rains would come in trickles.

@amitkokiladitya Those in the dam area reports that there is no significant changes in the water level in the dam. So we still need more rains to come to fill that up. If only we can redirect all the rains that fell in our area then it might just add more water there. Plus since we are in a place where we are hit by strong typhoons having this spouts will become a danger to the community that has one.

The weather agency said there are more LPA sighted. That means more rains are coming. In our place, it's already 2 days that we have rains in the morning, late in the evening or late in the afternoon.

@Nakitakona If only we could control where that rains would fall I think this could have solved our problems already. Rains that fell here will just go to river tributaries around and eventually will be released to the open seas.

It has been raining a lot in my province. I pray it rains more for you too. I have experienced water shortage in the past and it really is hard. The plants withered, The laundry don’t get done, and the showers were short. I never want to experience it again.

@flapiz I think there was an attempt before to induce rains in the dam basin area but they say this is not 100% sure thing since they need to find a suitable clouds that they can induce to rain. If there is a few then there is high probability that it may not produce rain.

Rains has been coming at nights lately. I have been monitoring the status of the their water levels and so far the nearest our place has already reached its levels but those bigger ones need to have more rains to be filled up. The water crisis is still up to this day but some areas are already receiving normal flow of water already.

That is true, the water crisis has elevated to an alarming level that there are places that are not usually affected with water interruptions are now experiencing it already. Although the improvement has not really much but with the rains pouring today will have the same effect on the dam area where the water is badly needed.

@JudyEv We are not yet affected in the place I am staying since the Overhead tank and underground cistern tank we have in our bldg is able to sustain us but the surrounding areas in my place is having rationing of water already. They have to fall in line outside to get clean water.

It's a little help; and we hope it would rain more to fill the dams. People should also plant more trees to help lessen temperatures.
