independence day

It's Been Decided...

We will be barbequing on the 4th of July this year. There will only be three of us here - my sister-in-law, the hubby, and me. So we can spend a little more on the meat. We have decided that we will be having ribeye steak. Yum! I can't wait. With it I will make fried okra in my air fryer, and French fries, sliced tomatoes, and sliced cucumber. I will not be eating french fries, they are on my list of foods to avoid. I can't wait. For those who celebrate it, do you know what you will be doing on Independence Day?

I am actually looking forward to having a quiet, enjoyable 4th of July this year. Been so busy. But those Ribeyes sound DELICIOUS. My favorite cut of steak, hands down.

Mine too. I used a mesquite marinade and they came out so tender you could cut them with a butter knife.

sounds lovely, jest the 3 'f y'all celebratin' our independence together :) nary a clue, but most likely nothin'. i might swipe the hubs truck (he stole such from me when i fell ill) 'n go 'nto town 'n visit with my sweet momma 'n aunt. ya know, coz he aint bothered to fix my wagon yet? sigh...

@HazySue i fear 'tis too hot to make the trip 's the trucks a/c 'tis out, 'tis been fer nearly 5 yrs. the hubs's not fixed that yet either. i could go'n such, but 't'd not be fair to the pup. she'd jest melt 'n i cannot leave 'er behind. he did tell me he tried to fix my auto, but seems he bought the wrong sized fuel filter... i see such's a control measure. seems he'd be changin' 'is strategies these days.

! I'm not sure of our menu yet, but it will be a family picnic (just us) as we go see a fireworks show in the next county over.

@HazySue We made a simple picnic around simply baked chicken drumsticks. The fireworks show was fun to watch. Hope you had a lovely 4th and I'm sure your steak was yummy!!
