Have you ever tried the keto diet? Did it work for you? What did you think of it? It seems to be one of the most popular ones out there. There are also lots of keto foods you can eat. The idea is to eat few or no carbs and throw your body into ketosis where it is burning it's own fat. I hated the Atkins diet, although it works..it is extremely depressing. They have a lazy keto where you keep your carbs under 25 grams..that I could probably handle.

Keto is basically the same as Atkins. I don't like being told I *can't* have something because then I get obsessed and only want that thing. I try to limit my carbs and eat a lot of protein and vegetables but I do have sweet potatoes, rice, or pasta now and then. . . just not as often as I used to

Yes, well in lazy keto you can have some carbs..so it isn't as strict. The Atkins induction phase is the pits..Afterwards it isn't too bad.

@LadyDuck I am sure you are the only one who cares about those 3 pounds. When you are older it is better to be a bit heavier rather than too thin. Food is meant to be enjoyed.

@snowy22315 Well I am 3 pounds more than last summer and I do not intend to keep those pound. I am sure I did not complain that I was thin, I never complained being thin, during almost all my life I have been underweight just because I wanted to be.

I don't have kidney problems..being overweight is likely more unhealthy than a carb limited diet.

I never tried Keto but I have heard it's had good results. I know I need to cut back on my carbs but I don't know if I could do strictly Keto.

I know I couldn't go totally carbless. I would be miserable,,but staying under 25 I could do, I think.

@Marilynda1225 Sadly, even healthy things like fruit have a lot of carbs.

@snowy22315 I am going to see how many carbs I eat daily and see if I'm above or around 25. I'm sure I'm way above but it's something I could work on too

It's popular till the next fad diet comes around and then that will be the one to do. I have been on the "I don't give a crap" diet for years now. It's where you eat what you want and don't give a crap what other people think of me and what I look like. You eat what you want and don't give a crap what is healthy cause you realize all of us are going to die eventually.

someone here at home is on it and has lost a bit already. but i remember reading it's good for short-term, maybe to kick-start your weight loss plan, but not long-term.

@cacay1 she says she doesn't get hungry often so i guess that means she doesn't always have to buy food while at work

I never heard of this diet before. Ever tried the Paleo diet?

Keto and Paleo are pretty similar. I think Paleo is stricter though.
