Deck Marigolds

I often grown marigold plants in my deck garden. The butterflies enjoy landing on these blooms. Funny because there is no nectar. But they seem to land and take a break, long enough for me to get photos. While you can buy marigold plants at your local garden nursery, you can also grow your own marigold seeds into plants much more cheaply. Many plant these as a border around their vegetable gardens. They have a smell that will deter deer and other pests from destroying their garden. I plant them simply for their beauty on my deck. Photo ©CarolDM taken from deck garden. I usually have marigolds but I didn't buy any this year, come to think of it, I didn't buy any flowers this year, it is a very odd year for me.

I also like to grow marigolds, just because they protect some vegetables from bugs. I have them in my garden.

Marigolds are flowers I have all over the place. They are so easy to grow and I love that they make their own seeds, so you really never have to buy them. Just love them.

Are these from your garden. They are so well formed and healthy. I have grown marigolds and do have stories on them. I have a few plants and hope they will yield when rains subside

I have them on my deck too. Deer stripped the branches of our cherry tree. I need marigolds around the tree I suppose.

I used to grow them on the border of our large garden when we lived out in the country-kept the bunnies out of our garden where they should be.
