I met him when we were in college. We had the same course and we were classmates in most of our major subjects. He was an ROTC officer and a student government official as well. After college, he joined the army. He is tall, handsome, kind, generous and he is my best friend. He is also the godfather of my daughter. And officially today, he is a priest. His Rite of Ordination was held and attended by close friends and family. I couldn’t be there but my heart swells with pride for what he has become. It’s his calling, his vocation. I just can’t imagine him as a priest. Maybe I won’t be joking around him so much more than before?
Photo is of him and his brothers in Christ.

@sol_cee *sigh* Because it's difficult for me to reconcile the sol_cee I talk with with someone who has a priest for a friend. *shrug*

@DaddyEvil my husband’s aunt is a nun. She is in Italy now. She used to convince my husband to become a priest. Haha

a most humblin' honor 'ndeed. saddened ya couldn't be there, but 't least y'ave photos 'f such. 'tis a blessin' to've known 'im fer so long. he'd most likely be a bit put off if'n ya changed yer jokin' with 'im. i know some priests who're quite the corkers 'n love tellin'/hearin' jokes. some're e'en a tad mischievous!

Wow so admirable. Priesthood is somewhat a dying profession these days. Happy for the path he chose.

When I was doing pest control I of course did quite a few Catholic churches, and of course dealt with more than a few Catholic priests. I remember one that had a pretty foul mouth, and I remember asking the secretary, "Geez, I wonder what the priest thinks of that guy?" To which she just smiled and said, "He IS the priest."

You're lucky for you have a classmate, a best friend, a kumpadre who is a priest.
