Here is a series on interesting/strange occupations gone due to societal and technological changes. "MUFFIN MAN" Yes, that's the correct term for this happy English chap whose job was to sell a bread product known in the United States as an English muffin to households during the Victorian Era. With his trusty bell and tray of fresh muffins he would go door to door hawking and delivering his wares. This practice continued well-into the 20th Century. Unlike the Food Carts seen today this job required a bit more physical stamina, some good shoes, and the ability to skedaddle from those sleeping in after a night at the pubs. My thought on this occupation is that job sure is a different take on "take-out ordering", BTW: Did you know the Muffin Man Song? Here are the widely known lyrics and accompanying video of this kids song: Do [or "Oh, do"] you know the muffin man, The muffin man, the muffin man, Do you know the muffin man, Who lives on Drury Lane? Yes [or "Oh, yes"], I know the muffin man, The muffin man, the muffin man, Yes, I know the muffin man, Who lives on Drury Lane. Source- Money and Wikipedia Video- You Tube Photo- Wikipedia

@LadyDuck Thanks for sharing that info. I would believe this to be how business was done in many countries in the past.

You know what if I had the time to bake muffins I could probably walk around the beach selling muffins to the tourists here. Very often the adults don't care but the kids always want something to chew on. Here if you don't bring food to the beach then you have to walk over to the main street and buy whatever you want to take it back to the beach.

Isn't that a great idea. And your right you would probably sell them. Unfortunately, you would need a license to sell them and a health certification to bake them for a business.
