Sour Cream Angel Food Cake / myLot

While out and about today, I stopped at Kroger for a few things. They have a huge bakery. I always take a stroll through, just looking. Today they had their freshly baked angel food cakes on sale. Yes, I had to get two. Not one, but two. They were but one get one free. And they had the sour cream flavor. My favorite angel food cake. I love these cakes. They are very light and make such a good dessert. You can add strawberries or other fruit. But, if the cake is fresh, I add nothing but my fork. I remember watching my Mother make these cakes growing up. We had them often. I have many recipes to make them homemade. But I bought two, cheaper than I could have made them. When you ask what is for dinner? Probably angel food cake tonight. Do you like a little dessert as well? Every now and then perhaps? Have you had angel food cake before?

Yes, that used to be my mother's favorite. My husband likes it too; but I can take it or leave it. Enjoy yours!

@LindaOHio It is cooked in the cake and is only a hint but I like it. I had never heard of it before either.

Sounds very good, not sure I have ever tried sour cream flavor. My grandmother makes a delicious sour cream frosting though!

never heard of angel food cake before, but i have seen many cake that shape here, but the name is not angel food cake, btw that looks fluffy

It is a very light cake, some put strawberries or other fruit. It is cooked with a lot of egg whites, making it fluffy.
