Hi everyone! I haven’t been around in a while thanks to being super busy and living life.
I made reservations last week to return to Florida. We leave Connecticut on December 5th. That will give us 184 days of being a resident plus one extra day. To be a full time resident we need 183 days. I can’t make return reservations for two more months.
I’m not excited to go right now, but know the cold weather in December will change my mind.
I’m back to playing golf and tennis at our club. My back is fine once again! Yay!

That is exciting, you have a very active life at both locations that is for sure. I am not making any reservations yet, I am not sure we will be able to go. It depends on how John is, right now we need to stay close to be of assistance. We will probably go down for a few weeks spread over the winter.

I don’t blame you for staying close to home until you have things under control. We will try to fly back to CT to see the family and Doodles, and mostly to check on our younger son. I’m shipping a warm coat, scarf, gloves, and boots just in case.

@DianneN That is a wise move. Yes, at times like these we need to stay connected with home.

Thank you! I’m simply relieved that we got our reservations going to FL. We leave from a small airport and the flights are always booked. We got great seats, too!
Yes, I was in agony with my stupid back. It feels so good to feel good again. lol

@DianneN As I get older, I am learning how to obtain better health, every single day! When I was young, there was no need to work for it, good health seem to come naturally. Now, it's hard work!

@DianneN So you are going to say goodbye to CT and welcome back Florida. I think I like the weather in Florida.

Good to know that your back is fine.
You seem so planned and organized. It's always better to make plans in advance.
Enjoy your time and your game

Thank you! I just returned from a nice walk before it gets too hot. It feels wonderful to not have a rotten back again. I think it’s cooler in Florida than here, but would rather be where I am this time of year. I’m needed here, anyway.

Does becoming a resident have any advantages well apart from the warmer weather and gorgeous sun sea and way of life/

@DianneN OH that is good to know. OH well go for it! Who wouldn't! Your tax systems are completely different to ours so for us to ask such questions might seem stupid but we really do not understand it. Mind you half the time we don't understand our own tax systems as it is usually fraught with high foluting legal terms.

Thanks. Being well makes life so much better.
Booking is always a fear of mine. I was worried that we wouldn't get the flight we need to get us there in time to complete our residency. And, I wanted good seats for easy on and off the plane.1 person likes this

@just4him The price wasn't so hot, but what the heck. I still need to book a flight home. Hopefully, we will try to return to CT and NY for a visit to see everyone between Dec. and June. I'm just worried about flying into a snowstorm. Mid April may work.

Yes, if we don’t book in advance, we don’t get good seats or flight times we want. We like to arrive early so that we can open the condo, clean, get the battery connected to the car, grocery shop, and eat dinner out.
The weather begins to get cooler here in the fall with some lovely weather, and the leaves on the trees turn colors. So beautiful.

You're excited then and that means all your bags are packed and ready to go, leaving on a jet plane. Good luck. Happy trip.

Thank you. That darn back of mine really caused me such pain. It’s good to feel good once again.
